Reuters Published Disturbing Pictures of the Three Dead Men Killed Alongside of Bin Laden (Link)

Reuters has published the gruesome pictures of the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. The three dead bodies are graphic and disturbing, but Reuters defends their rights to publish them. The pictures are of three dead men, who were with Bin Laden inside the compound.

The pictures of the dead bodies are time stamped about an hour after the raid ended, according to Reuters. Bin Laden's body would have been gone by then with the Navy SEALS. A security guard, who wished to remain anonymous, sold the pictures to Reuters.

Reuters is not alone in their feelings that Americans have the right to see these photos. Sheppard Smith noted on Fox News today that although he personally doesn't want to see the photos, they should be published and he requested on air that Fox lawyers file for a "FOIA" or Freedom of Information Act, to get those pictures to the public.

President Obama today decided he would not release the pictures of Bin Laden to the public. He said that "the man is dead, we do not need to spike the football," according to Sheppard Smith on Fox News.

The debate is on as to whether Obama should have made the pictures of Bin Laden available for the public to see. Many believe that it will stop the rumors that are saying Bin Laden is not dead, while others, such as the White House administration believe that the graphic picture of Bin Laden may cause servicemen and women to be in harms way from retaliation. As it stands today, Bin Laden pictures will not be published for the public to view.

You were right. They were disturbing. Hopefully, they will act as a deterrent for people considering terrorist acts in the future.
