Reverse the Effects of the Sun from Tanning

Tan is in and has been for years. People lay out and bake on the beaches, in their back yards and in the pool. For those who cannot take the heat, tanning salons are all the rage. This is also beneficial in the winter when it is not feasible to lay out.

Did you ever think about what all those years of tanning was doing to your skin? Most people don't until they are older and start to develop wrinkles. The desire to be tan outweighs the thought of future damage.

Coffee is being touted as a new way to fix the UV damage done to your skin. Recent studies have shown that coffee may prevent and repair what the sun has done to your skin. Using coffee topically has been studied and researchers say this is showing promising results at fixing damage done by the sun.

Many people have known for years that holding a tea bag under the eye area has good results at reducing puffiness. Therefore the thought that tea or coffee could actually repair damage done by many years of sun damage is astounding.

Tests have been performed on mice using green tea and black tea and the results have been amazing. The tea has repaired and even prevented damage from UV rays. Tests using coffee have been just as promising. Caffeinated teas and coffee are the only ones that show these results. It does not work when decaffeinated drinks were used. However coffee has shown more results than tea.

Rosacea, a condition that causes a person's face to stay red, is caused by blood vessels that do not properly dilate and contract. Due to caffeine's capability to make blood vessels constrict, it has been used for years to treat this condition with good results. It has also been shown to reduce the redness and puffiness that people get under their eyes. For that reason it has been used in eye creams.

Researchers say that using coffee both topically and orally have shown good results. Studies in dermatology are ongoing to pinpoint exactly what causes coffee and tea to get the results they are showing. Coffeeberry, which is the fruit of the coffee plant, is being looked into as an antioxidant as well.

For those that suffer from facial redness, they may want to have iced coffee rather than a steaming hot cup of coffee. Since hot drinks have shown that they can cause your face to turn red, iced is preferred. This just may be the answer to having to go for facelifts and tucks.

Coffee or tea can dehydrate you so it is wise to drink water after drinking these beverages. Not only does that morning cup of coffee get you up and going, it can help you to look better while you are doing it.
