It took the last couple months of hanging around Facebook and seeing some old classmates throw their maiden names up there before the married one just so people could remember them. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice little tactic, but unfortunately not everyone you know is on Facebook or MySpace, or even on Classmates.com. So finding them can be a daunting task.
Listen, it really doesn't matter if you're a guy or girl looking for friends, relatives, or co-workers, utilizing a reverse telephone directory is a helpful little tool. I had the opportunity to try this out recently and wanted to share the ups and downs with all of you in hopes that you'll already have a better understanding of doing something like trying to get a name from a phone number.
When I first hit the website, it looks like the Google search engine. The only difference is it's a reverse telephone directory. I recommend testing it out first by just placing your own phone number in there so you can see what happens. All it takes is a couple seconds and then five things pop-up for you. First, the number you typed in, when you did it, the city and state you live in, and of course a little box for the full report.
Now, the free version of this reverse telephone directory is great if you're just trying to find out the city and state this person lives in, but it won't give you all the details. This is where the full report comes in and helps you in getting a name from a phone number. The full report gives you the Owner's name and address, phone location, household members, the phone company they deal with, if it's a cell phone or landline, and many other things you'll enjoy.
I have to suggest that you click on the sample report ahead of time just to see how the process works if you plan on really taking this for a spin. After you take a peak, just click on the continue button of this reverse telephone directory and 3 different options will come up. First will be a Premium Membership that gives you a one-time fee for a year membership. The best part about this is you have unlimited lookups for the course of a year.
The second choice is for a one-time deal. So if you lookup one number, but don't feel you'll ever use it again, then this would be a better option. You still get the full report and everything, but it's limited to this one search. Definitely a fair price for saving you hours of searching on your own without a reverse telephone directory, and possibly coming up with nothing.
The last option is for those of you who wish not to have your information in your database. While it's fun to lookup numbers and everything, I know many of you do not want others being able to access your private information. If this is the case you can basically spend $5 and be removed from the system. It just depends on how you feel about it all.
Oh, and one more thing before I go. They do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This is important because you may not be getting a name from a phone number. At least not the one you wanted anyways. When this happens they will try to do it manually for you and if it still doesn't work they give you a refund. I must warn you though, this can be quite addicting. Post a CommentOne warning. I agree this is a good way to find people if you are looking and you don't mind paying, but please read my article "Beware Intellius" before signing up for a one-time lookup with any company. They have a "learn more" link on the page where you choose which service you want, you think is going to tell you how to get the "free" trial. I didn't follow the link because I KNEW I only wanted one number, one time. They signed me up for the service because that's what the "learn more" link explained, that if you used the service at all, you were automatically signed up for the service. They then start taking the money out of your account. I called to cancel as soon as they charged me the first time because I hadn't wanted the service and guess what...They charged me the next month too. I then emailed them from their site's email and they never answred. In the email I sent to them, I told them that if they didn't cancel me then, I'd write articles about my experience, which
I used to buy hard copies of these books back in the 80s. Invaluable! There is one with Street addresses first also, which gives the name and phone number.
