Review of 2006 Topps Chrome Baseball

2006 Topps Chrome Baseball is set to hit the market within the next week. Each hobby box will contain 24 packs. On average, every hobby box will contain 14 parallel cards and 2 autographed rookie cards.

The base set of 2006 Topps Chrome Baseball will contain 354 total cards. The first 252 cards will be of MLB veterans such as Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and Alex Rodriguez. The next 55 cards will be of 2006 MLB rookies. After the rookies will be 23 cards dedicated to Award Winners from the past season. There will also be 22 Autographed rookie cards and the Autographed Rookie Base Variation card.

330 of the base cards will have Refractor parallels. They will also have Black Bordered Refractor parallels which are sequentially numbered to 499.

The Autographed Rookie Base Cards will have the following parallel versions:
1.) Autographed Rookie Refractor: sequentially numbered to 500
2.) Black Bordered Autographed Rookie Refractor: sequentially numbered to 200

2006 Topps Chrome Baseball will also feature the following insert sets which will combine for 12 in each hobby box on average:
> Signers of the Declaration of Independence (average of 7 per hobby box)
> Signers of the Declaration of Independence Refractors
> Signers of the U.S. Constitution (average of 5 per hobby box)
> Signers of the U.S. Constitution Refractors

Each hobby box of 2006 Topps Chrome will also contain an average of 4 of the following inserts per hobby box:
> Barry Bonds Home Run History
> Bonds Black-Bordered Refractors: sequentially numbered to 200
> Bonds Refractors: sequentially numbered to 500
> Mickey Mantle Home Run History
> Mantle Black-Bordered Refractors>: sequentially numbered to 200
> Mantle Refractors: sequentially numbered to 500

Every hobby box of 2006 Topps Chrome will contain one hobby exclusive box loader. The box loader could be any of the following cards:
> Red-Bordered Refractor Parallels: sequentially numbered to 75
> Gold-Bordered SuperFractor Parallels: sequentially numbered to 1
> Printing Plates: sequentially numbered to 1
> Framed Home Run History Printing Plates: sequentially numbered to 1
> Autographed Printing Plates: sequentially numbered to 1
> Autographed Red-Bordered Refractor Parallel: sequentially numbered to 25
> Autographed Gold- Bordered SuperFractor Parallels: sequentially numbered to 1

2006 Topps Chrome Baseball is sure to be a top set among collectors. The cards are very nice looking, and the rookie autographs are always very popular. The highlight of 2006 Topps Chrome could very well be the box loader that is inserted one per hobby box. The most valuable card in each box could very well come from the box loader.

    i read in another review that there were no xfractors but i seem to have i stack of about 70 (yes 2006 topps chrome)
