First of all, if you are looking for a great multi-purpose bike then the 2009 Boot'R Team bike may be the perfect bike for you. Whether you are planning to ride the mountain terrain, the hills, or highways, it is by far the top choice. With its design, it can carry you on cross country rides as well as short distances.
It features dual suspension which means that it has shocks all around. This allows the wheels to stay on the ground to give you the smoothest ride. Another feature of this bike is "Free Drive". In simple terms, this means that the forks are joined with pivots instead of solid like most bikes. This gives you more control over the bike, allowing you easier pedaling and faster speeds. With these features, the Boot'R Team qualifies as one of the best designed downhill bikes.
Although it is pricey at the $4000 price range, it's design compares equally or better than bikes that costs twice as much.
Besides the high price of the Mongoose 2009 Boot'R Team bike, the main complaint I have is the heigth of this bike. It is taller than the average bikes which makes it difficult for shorter riders like me to be comfortable while stationary.
Overall, this is the best bike for the price, especially if you want a multi-purpose bike.

i love mongoose monster trucks
LOL, sorry you don't agree, but I happen to love monster trucks. However, I found this particular model to be a surprisingly enjoyable ride on several terrains.
Dude, are you insane? The Mongoose Boot'R is built for one reason, and that is going down very steep, very technical, and very gnarly mountain trails at very high speeds. It is in no way a multi-purpose bike. It doesn't climb worth a darn, it sucks on pavement, it would totally suck as a commuter, and trust me it sucks on xc trails. Riding this thing on the street would be like riding a monster truck to work. Sure you could do it, but it is total overkill that will sap your legs of all power. Gravity should be what mostly powers this bike, not pedaling.
