This movie is certainly an appearing film to be seen in 3D because of the great backgrounds and animations, but the actual script is very bland and a little all over the place, none of the cast members can save this movie. The plot of Alice In Wonderland was way to simple and right to the point. Every character in this movie were clearly identified by paint whether they be good or evil (in this particular case red was considered evil and white symbolizes good characters.)
Johnny Depp's character in the movie is a character called the Mad Hatter he was rather bland and a bit too much that I wouldn't necessarily consider it acting. He did look a bit pathetic in his appearance by having way too much blush and a crazy wig. His unpredictability as an actor was certainly predictable in this movie which was never the case with him before, that it was no longer fun. Helena Bonham Carter's character is the Red Queen and boy did she do a great job I think if it wasn't for her this movie would really flop. I especially liked her weird chuckle it was very cute and amusing, she actually stole the show in this movie as opposed to Johnny Depp which is usually the opposite. Mia Wasikowska's character is Alice she wasn't spectacular but yet she wasn't that bad either, it just seemed to me that she didn't really embrace her role in the movie because she didn't show much emotion in her scenes. I was sometimes so bored by her being Alice that I was constantly checking my watch every five minutes she was in a scene because of how boring she truly is.
My overall experience with this film is that it's not entirely the worst movie I've ever seen, but it wasn't that great either. The movie did possess two great qualities and they include great animations and backgrounds and what Tim Burton tried to convey in this movie was certainly there, except that their were to many glaring holes to make up for the movie's weaknesses. If you were to check out an interesting film I wouldn't completely rule this movie out, if your truly looking for a great movie with a great storyline I would suggest checking out How To Train Your Dragon. I honestly liked the movie but it didn't reach the expectations I thought the movie would surpass but it was still a mediocre film at best.
