Review: Almay's Intense I-color Liquid Eyeliner - Black Pearl 03

TommiH
Hey everyone! Today we are going to take a look at Almay's Intense I-color liquid eyeliner - 03 black pearl. During this review we are going to go over the applicator, color, texture, application life. Let's get started!

Applicator:

Alright, so I came across a big problem when I went to apply my new liquid eyeliner from Almay. The built in applicator brush is extremely thick! To make a line with this brush would be beyond difficult because it's so big, so I give this applicator a thumb down.

Instead of using the bulky applicator, I use a concealer brush that is skinny and rounded off at the top. It only takes a tiny bit of liner on the brush to go a long way. So we won't begin freaking out just yet because we can still improvise with a different brush.

Color:

Right now we are talking about the black pearl which is number 03. I like this color because it's not completely matte when finished but there is a little sparkle in there (you can barely see the sparkle because it is so subtle). But it's that small subtle sparkle that adds a hint of gloss to the finish.

The actual color is extremely black. It's the same color as black-black mascara. If you apply with the applicator that came with the color comes out thick and bold. If you use a smaller brush, the color will come out a little lighter so you will have to apply another coat over the first coat. All-in-all, the color is vibrant and pigmented.

Texture:

Though this is a "liquid" liner, it is not very thin in texture. It is actually thick in texture. I like the fact that it's not thin because it doesn't run everywhere. The liner holds in place easily without running or creasing. A thumb up for texture.

Application Life:

Now we are going to talk about application life. I love this liner in the term of life because it last so long! Now this is not waterproof liner so if you will be sweating a lot (exercising, etc.) this liner will run off, so avoid activity that will cause the liner to smear or run. On a normal day, this liner lasted me a total of 10 hours before it started to fade.

If you need a liner that last long and doesn't cost a lot of money, I would highly consider getting this liner. It takes a little while to get used to, but, once you get used to it, it's worth it. And make sure you consider using a different, smaller brush rather than the applicator that came with the liner.
