Wand:
I'm guess I'm going to start off with the bad news for this review. The wand for this mascara is a disgrace. There, I said it.
The wand has these short little-thick bristles that are all sparsely placed. Since the bristles are so thick and separated, the formula crams and bunches up in the wand. When the formula bunches in the wand bristles, it gets all over your lashes and clumps them together. It was not an appealing look at all. Thumb down!
Formula Texture:
Another bad topic for this review - the texture is very dry. Good mascaras have more moisture to hydrate the lash area, while not being too dry because that would cause the lashes to dry too quickly while you're applying a coat. This is just dry!
Between the poor wand design and dry formula, your lashes take a beating. After application, you are left with a clumped together mess that looks unnatural and not beautiful at all.
Application:
Application life is okay, it's not horrible nor is it good. The color starts to fade and flake off after awhile. I got approx. 4 hours out of this mascara before everything went completely down hill. Sure it was already half way down hill when applied this gunk, but it finished falling down hill when the application life failed horribly.
The only thing I could really do to keep from having a complete disaster for mascara while using Intense, was to heat the mascara up a little before using. Get a bowl out and fill it full of hot water and allow the mascara to float for five minutes before using. This heats the formula up and it goes on a little smoother. Also make sure to clean the wand off with hot water after you are finished using.
If you pump the wand in the casing, you will dry the mascara out quicker. Try pulling the wand out part way and
twisting it to gather formula.
Color:
There are a couple different colors available for purchase. There is brown, brown/black, and a couple different shades of black. Generally I do not like brown mascara because they are so light in pigment, but this brown color was actually rich and full of color. I would have to give the brown a thumb up. The other colors were okay, but not amazing eye catching pigment. It may also be the wand because it separates the lashes and doesn't give them much of a full look.
No, I do not recommend this product to you. I fully believe this mascara is a waste of money. The wand is far too poor and the texture is far too dry. The colors

Post a CommentI wish I had read the review for the Almay intense i-color mascara volumisant BEFORE I BOUGHT IT!!! It is junk! It is priced here in Canada at over $13! I have to wipe the wand off with tissue BEFORE I can apply it! I'll NEVER buy this product again.
