Review of American Idol's March 4 Show

Paula Abdul said that tonight's show was an amazing start to the top 12. The group sang a Katy Perry song, "Hot and Cold". I didn't care for the song, but thought the group did an excellent job. They showed clips of the previous nights performances, which just reinforced my pick of who will go thru.

The first person to make it through to the top 12 was Lil Rounds. She had another great performance. The first contestant to go was Arianna. I thought she did pretty good the previous night, just not enough to make it thru to the top 12.

Taylor was the next one to go. I also think she did good but again not good enough for the top 12. They had only once chance to "blow it away" as the judges say, and I think both girls missed the mark on that.

Alex was the first guy to be sent home. Kendall and Scott were the next contestants to be brought to the spotlight. Like I predicted Scott made it through to the top 12. I really do like this guy! I could listen to him sing all day. He said it felt like a dream come true.

Nathaniel and Kristen were next to find out their fate in going to the top 12. Unfortunately they both did not make it.

The next two called out into the spotlight were Felicia Barton and Von Smith. Both had good performances. America decided that they both would not go through.

It all came down to Ju'not and Jorge. Jorge was surprised to learn that he had make it into the top 12. It wasn't who I thought would make it. I really had my money on Felicia. I think Jorge will make us proud though.

The Wild Card portion of the show was next. I am sure there were a lot of anxious contestants up stairs. Simon said the Wild Card show has brought back contestants and given them a second chance who went on to have a successful music career. Think Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken.

The lucky one to find out first if they made the Wild Card round or not was Von Smith. He was clearly surprised to find out that he did. I do think he has real potential and glad he was given a chance to prove himself.

Next on the Wild Card list was Jasmine Murray. I can definitely see her making it into the top 12 and probably beyond. I don't see her going home anytime soon.

Ricky Braddy was the next Wild Card pick. I said in an earlier article review that I thought American Idol had been keeping him a secret from us. I am looking forward to hearing him sing again and to see how he does.

"Darth Vader" as Ryan so eloquently referred to Simon, announced the next lucky contestant to achieve Wild Card status would be Megan. This girl has a unique voice and style. She was definitely a good pick.

Randy announced that Tatiana had also received a second chance as a Wild Card. I thought she was an interesting choice. In my opinion, she needs to tone it down a bit. She is just a tad over dramatic.

The final three Wild Card picks were Matt Giraud, Jessie Langseth and Anoop Desai. I agreed with that decision too. This should make for a great Wild Card show. Stay tuned for my review on the Wild Card episode
