Review of Aquafresh White Trays

A Disappointment in Teeth Whitening

Annie Lynne
Aquafresh White Trays are marketed as soft, flexible trays that offer a "custom fit" unlike other whitening products currently on the market. According to the Aquafresh website, these trays offer a secure fit, are pre-filled and disposable, are easy to apply, have a clean and fresh taste, and are safe for enamel. The Aquafresh White Trays are supposed to be convenient. You put in the curved tray, where it for 30 to 45 minutes for 3 to 7 days, and your teeth will be whiter.

Aquafresh White Trays: Price
I purchased my Aquafresh White Trays on sale at Kroger for about $20. Since they are new, the store was running a promotional sale. They are typically a few dollars more and comparable with other whitening products on the market.

Aquafresh White Trays: Trays
Unfortunately, I found the trays themselves to be uncomfortable and difficult to wear. The trays slipped out easily, and it was impossible to say even a few words in them. While I was wearing them, I had to clench my teeth together just to keep them from falling out. I think that other whitening products, like Crest Whitestrips, are easier to wear and deliver the product more effectively.

Aquafresh White Trays: Taste
The taste of the product inside the trays was awful. The product was a slimy, bitter, noxious substance that made me sick to my stomach. Nevertheless, I was adamant about sticking it out for the required time limits each day for a week.

Aquafresh White Trays: Side Effects
In addition to having to stomach the awful taste of the gel product, I also noticed that my teeth became very sensitive to cold and hot food and drink. Since using the Aquafresh White Trays was the only change to my usual routine, I can only assume that the gel product caused this sensitivity.

Aquafresh White Trays: Effectiveness
I was disappointed in the effectiveness of the Aquafresh White Trays. Because the trays are rather small, they did not cover my teeth at the root. Only the very tips of my teeth really got any whiter. I do not think that my teeth are overly large, so I am not sure why I had this problem.

Aquafresh White Trays: Overall Rating
Overall, I would not recommend the Aquafresh White Trays. I was disappointed in both the delivery method of the product and the effectiveness of the product. Other whitening methods on the market, like the Crest Whitestrips, are much more convenient and effective.
