The Archos 7-Home Tablet is one of newest gadgets people are using to compute from home. The Archos 7 Home Tablet is outfitted with a decent size screen for viewing all the while sporting a slim design that is not bulky like traditional laptops. The Archos 7 tablet is one of the first tablets to Android operating system.

The total width of the Archos 7 tablet is 8" and 4.2" in length. The tablet weighs a total of 13.7 ounces and is very slim and compact. The Archos features an ARM 600 MHz processor that is a little slow compared to other tablets. Also, the tablet features an 8GB-flash drive for more than enough storage.

The display screen on the Archos 7 tablet is 7" and has a display resolution of 800x480. The tablet computer has speakers built within it and supports WMA, WAV, OGG, AAC and MP3 audio formats. The Archos 7 features an expansion slot for 1 microSDHC card as well as interfaces for USB 2.0 devices.

The Archos 7 Home Tablet comes with headphones, power adapter, usb cable and has 802.11 b/g wireless LAN built in it. The tablet features the Android operating system. However, most Android applications will not work with the Archos 7 at this time. Picking and choosing apps for the Archos is a hit and miss scenario for you.

The Archos 7 Tablet costs around $185 brand new. The Archos 7 home tablet does have some limitations such as the processor operating very slowly and that a home screen and volume control are missing on the screen. However, for a great cheap alternative to the IPad then the Archos 7 should provide you with the necessary services you need to use the web and to send email.
