Aurora, IL 60502
United States of America
The Ashton Pointe town-homes are located on the corner of Eola Rd. and north Aurora Rd., located behind Jewel (yup, a grocery store is in walking distance). The association features a variety of home styles - two bedroom condos, two bedroom town-homes and three bedroom town-homes. There are a total of four town-homes in one unit (more if the units feature condos, which are usually stacked, so there is a unit on the first floor and a unit on the second floor). Condo and town-home spaces range from 1,000 to 1,700 square feet. The two bedroom town-homes have a sizable loft on the second floor, which can serve as an office or a living room. None of the homes have basements in this association. All of the second floor condominiums have balconies, and all of the units have garage spaces.
Home prices in this association range from $160,000 to $230,000 (the recent market conditions have created opportunities to get some of these homes at a great deal, so keep your eye out for a great price). The association costs are between $150-$180 a month, and it includes maintenance costs (snow clean up, lawn moving, etc), water, building insurance, etc.
A lot of families with kids live at Ashton Pointe. The school district is 224, which is the Naperville school district (since the association sits virtually on the border of Naperville and Aurora). The association has a recently built playground and park area to accommodate the residents.
As far as the area goes, everything is within short driving distance. Just two miles down the North Aurora Rd., you will find the Metra station. Every store or restaurant you can think of is located down Rt. 59, which is also a few minutes away from Ashton Pointe. As far as neighborhoods go, this is your typical suburban living.
I should mention that I am not a real estate agent, or benefit in any way from promoting this condo association. I just live here. And it's a nice place to live.
You can check out some of the properties on sale at http://brianernst.net. He is a real estate agent for Re/Max who lives in the association (for the record, I don't know him, so I am not endorsing him in any way) and sells a lot of properties around here. His site has a lot of great info on Ashton Pointe.
Good luck with your home shopping. Oh, and if you happen to chose Ashton Pointe, welcome to the neighborhood.
