Review: AT&T's Samsung BlackJack II

The BlackJack is back, and better than ever! Sure BlackJack 2 is a tiny bigger in size (a little thicker and heavier than the first BlackJack), but it's all for a good reason. It measures in at 4.4 inches high by 2.3 inches wide by 0.5 inch deep, and it weighs 4 ounces (The first BlackJack measures at 4.4 inches high by 2.3 inches wide by 0.6 inch deep, and it weighs 3.5 ounces.) But BlackJack 2 is still considered one of the sleekest, full blown, Smartphones on the market right now.

So, what's up with the slight weight gain and thickness growth? BlackJack 2 put on a little weight to make more room for a bigger battery to give you more communication time. But, still, even with BlackJack's slight growth, the phone can still easily slide into your pocket. And BlackJack 2 has a nicer pocket PC - like appearance compared to its elder BlackJack.

BlackJack 2 has a larger 2.4 inches screen (BlackJack has a 2.25 inches screen) This is a non-touch TFT screen with a 320x240-pixel resolution. Images and text look rather sharp and brilliant on this new screen, and, like with many other Windows devices, you have the ability to change the BlackJack's background and theme.

Below the screen is the newly, decked out, keyboard. It includes a navigation toggle, full keyboard, call and end call buttons, and more. The number keys are nolonger spread far apart, but, instead, clustered together. The keyboard also includes new shortcut keys located at the bottom. These shortcut keys can be used to get you to AT&T video, the Web, your inbox, and camera a whole lot quicker. No more going through the menus!
