Avatar QuizCall for Xbox 360 is a one to four player trivia game that can be played at any time, unlike 1 vs. 100 which is only playable during scheduled times. The game also features over a thousand different questions.
Unlike 1 vs. 100, there isn't a constant barrage of five minute commercial breaks. There are occasional fifteen second advertisements of other Xbox 360 games that have been developed by BBQ Games. The difference between fifteen second and five minute interruptions every thirteen minutes means that players of Avatar QuizCall will actually be playing roughly twenty minutes longer each hour than those who play on 1 vs. 100.
Avatar QuizCall for Xbox 360 also integrates player's Xbox 360 Avatars directly into the game, rather than using premade characters. On the flip side, the has inferior graphics when compared to 1vs 100 and Scene It? Another downfall is that the crowd will repeat the same avatars over and over again...making the game's graphics feel unimpressive.
Avatar QuizCall for Xbox 360 also features online leaderboards for competition against friends on your buddy list. While the online leaderboards is a nice touch, the lack of online multiplayer makes Avatar QuizCall not the best purchase for players who plan to play the game individually.
Avatar QuizCall for Xbox 360 definitely excels in a group setting, provided you own four Xbox 360 controllers. Xbox 360 owners should take heed that Xbox 360 peripherals such as a Rock Band drum kit or Guitar Hero Guitar can be used by friends to compete against you in the game.
So what makes the game such an appealing game? It's fantastic price point. Avatar QuizCall costs a mere 80 Microsoft Points ($1) from the Xbox Live Marketplace. While 1 vs. 100 is "free" for Xbox Live Gold Subscribers, no gold membership is needed to purchase and play Avatar QuizCall.
Avatar QuizCall for Xbox 360 can purchased here for 80 Microsoft Points ($1). For more information about Avatar QuizCall, visit the BBQ Games website www.bbqgames.co.uk.

Post a CommentHi, I am one of the developers of Avatar QuizCall and I would just like to let everyone know that the game is to get a major update soon.
This update will adress some of the issues you mention in your review, including better avatar animantions including the crowd, the addition of AI players for a much improved single player game.
Plus a new question pack will be added to the game.
Thanks for the great review. :)
