Review of Aveeno and Suave Natural Oatmeal Lotion

Aveeno has unveiled a new skin lotion- Aveeno Active Nat moisturizing naturals daily moisturizing lotion with sunscreen SPF 15, uva / uvb protection. I have tried this new daily moisturizing lotion out. And I am pleased with it in general although, I would not replace my regular daily lotion with Aveeno Naturals daily moisturizer.

What I like most about this lotion is pretty obvious, the SPF 15 uva/ uvb protection. I feel it is very important to protect your skin from the dangers of the sun. I like that it is made with natural colloidal oatmeal, and that it is 'dermatologist recommended'. Those were the two major selling points that encouraged me to try this moisturizing lotion out.

I have a few issues with this lotion however. It is very thick and I could not imagine using it on my face, it would clog your pores I imagine. For my hands, arms, legs and feet it is suitable. I feel that Aveeno lotion is slightly greasy, and too thick for easy absorption. I also disagree with the claim that it is proven to moisturize for twenty four hours. Maybe twelve hours I would believe and agree with.

Overall it is not a bad lotion, and I will acknowledge that I am very picky when comes to lotion, and brands I like in general. Aveeno products are generally a little higher priced, but are usually well worth the extra money.

Several years ago I was insanely loyal to Vaseline Intensive Care lotion and I could not imagine even using anything else. I would have never guessed that I would completely switch brands. I now use Suave natural oatmeal lotion, which is also dermatologist recommended and also contains natural colloidal oatmeal. Suave is a very inexpensive brand. I don't care for Suave shampoo,conditioner,or shower gel, but I am crazy about Suave natural oatmeal lotion. I love the price, ingredients and availability of this Suave product.

Suave natural oatmeal lotion is not too thick, it absorbs quickly and evenly, and it really does moisturize for twenty four hours. For half the price of Aveeno naturals daily moisturizing lotion with SPF 15, you can get a bigger bottle of a better natural colloidal oatmeal lotion, in my opinion.

This does not mean that I won't use Aveeno naturals daily moisturizing lotion with SPF 15 when I am planning to spend any amount of time over ten minutes in the sun.
