This product has is SPF 15, which is nice. Wearing SPF on a daily basis helps slow down the photo-aging process.
Mineral makeup is applied with a brush. The best type of brush to apply it with is a kabuki brush, a short fat brush. I already had a kabuki brush and that is what I use.
The mineral makeup comes in seven different shades. Since it's a powder you can mix up the shade you want from two shades if you are in-between. It sells for $10 in the Avon catalog, but does go on sale occasionally.
The mineral makeup comes in a .21oz container with a sifter top and black lid. It is a finely milled powder. I unscrew the lid, sprinkle some product onto the lid bottom, and swirl my brush around in it. Then I hold my brush over the lid as I tap the excess product off the brush. Then I apply the mineral makeup to my face with the brush, using swirling motions. I gradually apply it until I get the effect I want. For a few trouble spots such as hyper-pigmentation and under-eye circles I brush on the product with a concealer brush.
Nothing covers up my hyper-pigmentation like this does. I kind of scrub the makeup into the skin where I have discoloration, and it stays put all day. Because it looks so natural I forget I'm even wearing makeup until I wash my face at the end of the day and see what it was covering up all day long.
Avon's Smooth Mineral Makeup is a matte product, so for a more glowy look one should apply a highlighter on top of it.
Though applying mineral makeup takes a little time and practice, it is worth the natural look it creates. Your complexion will look like your skin, only better.

Post a CommentI just used the product today and at first used the little makeup pad that came in the jar, I don't recommend it. Becomes like fake tan because you get more than say on a kabuki brush which I used to finish my makeup. Just brushed off the fake tanned look and all is good. I usually use liquid foundation and find it's good, but either wears off too quick or doesn't cover uneven skin tone, which I'm "blessed" with... Unfortunately.
First thing I noticed with the mineral powder is I feel like my face can breathe, I don't feel smothered by it. The next test will be finding out how it goes at the gym?
Good stuff, apparently around the $40 mark, but I luckily won mine :)
I used Avon Personal Match Smooth Mineral Makeup for the first time this morning. My face feels light as if I am wearing nothing and it doesn't rub off on your hands from touching your face. My husband likes my makeup normally and usually will comment if I use too much or a color lipstick or eyeshadow he doesn't really like. Well this morning when I appeared in the kitchen, he asked me what was wrong with my face. I got nervous and asked what. First he said I had too much on, so I fixed that. I told him the lighting in the bath was different in the kitchen, so he said he would fix that. Then he looked at my face and said it looked different form normal. He said it had a real natural flawless look to it. I asked if he liked it and he said yes. Then I told him I had used a new makeup and I really appreciated his true natural response. He didn't know that I was using something different, so his response to me let me know that this makeup is a keeper.
Victoria - give it a go, I have lines around my eyes, I would suggest you use an eye shadow brush for your eyes and lines around the mouth
BIG TIP: START WITH VERY VERY LITTLE AND BUILD UP UNTIL YOU GET THE RIGHT LOOK- If you apply too much simply brush gently off with paper napkin.
This thing is super!! And makes you look younger but be prepared to practise getting it right!
I am 62 years old; do you feel this is a product for older, more lined skin?
