Review: AXbo Sleep Phase Alarm Clock

The aXbo Sleep Phase Alarm Clock is an interesting concept to read about even if you do not have the $200 to purchase one of your own. This innovative clock can monitor your sleep pattern and wake you up at the best moment to help you feel refreshed.

To use the alarm clock, you simply need to sleep with a sweatband on your wrist. There is a sensor in the sweatband that monitors your movement. Your movements during sleep correspond to the different sleep phases you go through during the night. There are no wires to get tangled up in and you barely notice the sweatband on your wrist. A wireless system transmits the info from the band to the clock.

With this product, you are still able to set it so that you will be awake in time to get ready for work. The alarm is designed to go off within 30 minutes before the time you set. You will not get to sleep until the very last moment possible so that you will not be late for work, but you will wake up at a more optimal time for your body and thus feel more rested and ready to start your day.

This alarm clock can be used for two different people at the same time. The longer you use it, the clock is able to learn more about you and optimize your wake-up time.

Another nice feature of this alarm clock is that the display light automatically turns off so it not will disturb your sleep. You can easily turn the light on by a switch in the wristband if you wake up in the middle of the night and want to check the time.

The aXbo has three rechargeable batteries that are automatically recharged whenever it is needed.

I have really enjoyed using this new type of alarm clock. I found the idea very clever and it was a fun toy to play with when it first arrived. I have been using the clock daily for a couple years now and find that I do feel much more rested during the day. Waking up during the wrong sleep phase messes up your natural rhythm and makes you feel tired. This alarm clock could be great for a person who is trying to cut down on caffeine consumption.

While this expensive alarm clock is not necessary, I think that it is a fun gadget to have around and would make a nice gift for the person that has everything.
