Review: Bahia Marina Condo Resort in Puerto Rico

If you are looking for a good place to stay with a group of people while visiting Puerto Rico, consider the Bahia Marina Condo Resort. The resort is located on the island of Culebra and rooms go for about $180 per night. The resort is rather small, with only 28 rooms, so book early if you wish to stay here. The small size also means that the property is well cared for and guests are treated as individuals.

The resort is alongside a nature preserve where you will likely see some local animals and many plants. My favorite part was that it only took us about 15 minutes to walk to a secluded beach where we could go snorkeling right off the shore. Flamenco Beach, which is one of the top ten beaches in the world, is only about a 10 minute walk as well.

I found this to be a great place to stay with my family. We were able to get a condo with two bedrooms which also had a full kitchen and living room. It was nice for everybody to have someplace to hang out while other people were getting ready and I liked having a kitchen because the kids are always hungry for snacks. Our room was very clean when we arrived and was kept up daily which I really appreciated because I had the children with me.

The view from our balcony was great because it overlooked the bay and the natural plant life surrounding the hotel. We could also see the large pool below. The pool was nice and had a swim up bar. It was more than large enough for the number of guests at the resort.

I really appreciated the helpfulness of the staff. They picked us up right from the airport so we didn't need to worry about finding a taxi or shuttle. We were able to check in immediately and the staff was very helpful in setting up any activity we wanted to do for us. They had great recommendations for things to do on the island since we had never been there before.

The restaurant at the hotel is great if you like seafood. We only ate there one night because my kids don't enjoy fish, but the food was great. The staff goes out each day and catches fresh seafood which is then cooked for dinner that night, so it is incredibly fresh.

Overall, we had a great stay at Bahia Marina and would recommend it to anyone looking for a condo-type place to stay in Puerto Rico.
