Barb's Restaurant in Piketon, Ohio is a little country restaurant on the edge of Piketon. I and my husband decided to get some breakfast to go from Barb's Restaurant. It was only the second time we had been there, and honestly the first time was so many years ago I believe it was a different owner and name.

Barb's Restaurant is directly off of US 23 in Piketon, Ohio just before the bridge, at 724 East Main Street. This restaurant is set in an ideal spot because of the ease of getting off and on of the highway. The location is also close to a gas station and a Comfort Inn hotel as well as the Piketon Motel.

Barb's Restaurant offers breakfast all day. On the day I was present the restaurant offered a breakfast platter for $4.99 which included 2 eggs, potatoes, choice of meat and one biscuit. However, we are trying to eat no red meat and changed the breakfast to include one more biscuit and no meat. That change cost us $6.00 for the meal. Pretty high considering that we skipped the meat and was charged for each individual item. I ordered 2 pancakes for $2.50.

The taste quality of the food left a lot to be desired. First off, I couldn't stand the taste of the pancake bread or of the cheap syrup. I took two bites and quit eating them. They looked good but the pancakes tasted like it was just flour and water.

My husband said the potatoes should have been seasoned better and cooked longer. He was a little surprised that they gave him sliced potatoes instead of hash browns or home fries. He also complained that the eggs were not seasoned properly. I ate one of his biscuits and thought they were passable but not delicious.

Barb's Restaurant had little to offer to-go customers. They had no ketchup packets but put some in a small plastic cup to throw away. The syrup had also been poured into one of these cups. I was not offered napkins. The only thing they had ready for orders to-go was foam food containers and plastic silverware.

Inside customers will have plenty of seating within a country setting. I noticed that there is an area set aside for raising Shriner money. There is also an inside restroom.

If you are wanting an extremely delicious breakfast then I suggest that you go someplace else. However, Barb's Restaurant is a great gathering place and it is an easy place to stop. For those reasons I would recommend it with a warning.
