I have a server inflammatory disease known as asthma. Asthma causes the airways to become inflamed causing breathing difficulties. For the past three years I have had asthma attacks every night until I started taking fish oils which are known to help reduce inflammation in asthma patients. One of the fish oil products I am taking is the Barlean's Fresh Catch Fish Oil in an orange flavor. So far, I have seen great results and my asthma attacks aren't as server.
The Barlean's Fresh Catch Fish Oil comes in an 8 fluid ounce bottle and comes from deep sea cold water fish. Other ingredients in the fish oil are rosemary extract, vitamin E and citrus flavoring. The fish oil is clear in color with an orange tint. The fish oil has a light orange flavor and strong orange scent that I find pleasing. The oil isn't too thick or to thin and is very easy to swallow down when you need to take it. In addition, the fish oil doesn't have any fishy taste to it at all, which is very nice. The nutrients in the fish oil that help relieve the inflammation in my airways naturally are the omega fatty acids. Omega fatty acids are essential for keeping the heart healthy, the circulatory system flowing easily and healthily, preventing cancers, preventing and relieving inflammation in the body, keeping lungs healthy and strong and slowing down the aging process.
The way I have been taking the Barlean's Fresh Catch Fish Oil is by pouring about three tablespoons into a small cup. Then I simply just drink the oil down like a liquid medicine. The fish oil is tasty, but I like to wash the oily taste left in my mouth down with some water. I usually take this fish oil right after breakfast. I find taking the oil on an empty stomach can sometimes cause my stomach to become queasy. I only need to take this oil once daily. I have been taking the oil for about two months now and I don't get asthma attacks every night anymore. Instead, it is like once or twice a month which is a lot better. I am able to breathe easier and the inflammation in my lungs has gone down greatly, but I believe this is because I take this fish oil daily.
Now, not everyone who tries this fish oil supplement for asthma will find relief like I have because everyone's body reacts differently to different supplements and needs different nutrients to help prevent inflammation and attacks. I would recommend talking to a doctor before trying this fish oil to help treat your asthma like I did. My doctor actually said it wouldn't hurt to add fish oil to my diet as long as I kept using my daily asthma medication.
With all this being said, the fish oil is expensive, but for me it was well worth it. I do hope those of you who try this fish oil get some amazing health benefits from it like I have been. I wish you all the very best with finding ways to get your asthma under control.
