The hotel has a magnificent portico and a lobby flanked by a botanical garden of breath-taking beauty. The hotel's musical fountain extends across the lake and is a very popular tourist attraction. The waters of the lake rise up and fall to music - it is indeed a feast to the senses.
The hotel also boasts of a Fine Art Gallery and has 18 restaurants and cafes to cater to every possible taste. Le Cirque and Picasso are two award winning restaurants of Las Vegas. Bellagio's huge Spa and Salon is a major attractions too, both for its magnificence and the high-profile celebrities that frequent it. Their pool area is very tranquil and nestled in foliage giving a sense of being away from crowds.
Bellagio's shops are world-class and very inviting. Their theatrical production Cirque du Soleil showcases famous international acrobats and swimmers and divers in shows performed in , on and above water.
Their casino however pales in comparison to the other attractions in the hotel. We found it to be a quite place despite being heavily populated. The cigarette smoke however was a bit of a nuisance although it was much less bothersome compared some other hotels on the strip.
Their staff is very courteous and the hotel offers complimentary rides to the airport.
Other hotels in Las Vegas also have unique attractions but in my opinion, Bellagio stands tall amongst its peers in all respects. Many people I met at the Bellagio had come there not for the casino but to the enjoy the attractions in the hotel.
The only flipside to staying in Bellagio is the price. I visited the place on company work and paid $250 a night (group rate) for a double-bed room with a gorgeous view of the fountains. A bottle of water was $6 and the meals were very expensive. However, with the recent economic downturn hitting Nevada very badly, many hotels have put up rooms at a lower rate and you may get a better deal through sites like Hotel.com.
