Review of BeneFit Bad Gal Lash Mascara

Wendy Rose Gould
BeneFit's Bad Gal Lash mascara makes me feel like a sultry 20s vixen. And, as a women who appreciates feeling both sultry and vixeny, that's a good thing. Before I get into the meat and potatoes of this review, I figured I'd tell you straight up that this is my favorite mascara and recommend it wholeheartedly. I have also used other brands, including Stila's Major Lash Mascara and Maybelline's popular Great Lash Mascara. While both are strong contenders, BeneFit's Bad Gal Lash is the clear winner. Here's why:

I'm a sucker for killer packaging, so when I stumped upon BeneFit's Bad Gal Lash mascara three years ago, my heart did a flip-flop. Its glossy black exterior is graced with fancy pink and white script. I bought the product without much thought and my expectations were met, then exceeded. The brush is extra large and extra thick, making sure your lashes are 100% coated. As for the formula, it's glossy liquid is enough to coat the lashes perfectly without leaving clumps. In the end, my lashes are left feeling soft and natural, not cakey or crusty. It could also be my imagination, but my lashes look extra voluminous with Bad Gal lash mascara.

Regarding application, simply make sure your lashes are clean and coat them with the Bad Gal mascara. As with any mascara, start at the base and swipe upward (the upward motion helps to curl your lashes naturally). After the base application, wait for the mascara to dry and then repeat. Make sure to get outer and bottom lashes.
The only con to this product is that it's a touch on the expensive size. At $19 for .3 ounces, it may be considered a hefty price to pay for mascara. However, it should be known that higher-end cosmetics typically have stronger lasting power and last longer, in general. If you're still unsure about spending that much money on one product, consider trying the smaller .14 ounce size that sells for $9. You can also test the product in stores.

If you want to try Benefit's Bad Gal Lash mascara out and decide if it has the potential to become your favorite, it's available at both Sephora.com and the BeneFit Cosmetics online store.

I am so not a makeup girl. My mascara, when I wear it, is clear. Still, excellent review.

Yikes! This one is expensive. I'm still on the cheap side when it comes to mascara. I don't wear mascara enough to spend $19 on one. I still love my cheap old Great Lash. LOL
