This movie Pretty Women won Golden Globe Award for best Actress - Julia Roberts, She was also nominated for Academy award for Best Actress which brought world wide acclamation. The movie Pretty Women was also nominated for Screenwriter J.F. Lawton for Writers Guild Award and the BAFTA Award.
Main Plot - Pretty Woman
Vivian, Julia Roberts plays as a prostitute waiting at the Hollywood street corner, when Edward Lewis (Richard Gere) driving Lotus Esprit stops the car in front of Vivian and asks her direction to hotel Beverly Wilshire Hotel. She thinks that he is asking for a date, ready jumps in to the car. But Vivian finds that Edward is having difficulty in driving, and later she drives him to the Hotel. Once Edward realizes her beauty offers her money for a date for night.
Edward tells Vivian about his business which is to buy corporate business houses and later sell them in small pieces and makes profit. She equates this with chop shop business, where car parts are sold in pieces and makes profit more than the profit by selling a car in total.
The day after, Edward meets businessman James Morse and his grandson David on a business lunch. Edward gives money to Vivian to buy good dress, the saleswomen at the shop insults Vivian seeing her poor street dress. At the lunch time when David comes to know about her profession and offer her money for a date. Later they meet at polo match and seeing Vivian friendly conversation with David. Edward feels unease and his tries to break the date by throwing money on the bed, and breaks the relation.
Climax - Pretty Woman
Meanwhile Edward after understanding his mistake goes to Vivian's house and asks her to forgive him and tries to be the knight in the Vivian fairy tale and they understand the love and tender feeling towards each other and end with kissing passionately.

It is a nice movie and I recommend every one to see and enjoy the romantic comedy of 1990 called Pretty Women.
