Review of Biore Pore Perfect: Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

Ann
Beauty is pain. Or, so I've heard. And, man are these things painful. What, you ask. Biore Pore Perfect.. Deep cleansing pore strips.

The front of this box claims that these strips will "instantly remove dirt, oil, and blackheads for cleaner, smaller looking pores. Sounds good to me. I can't remember exactly, but I believe these little miracle strips cost around seven dollars. Definitely not cheap, but I bought them anyway, remembering the commercial where the women are looking at the freshly removed strips and the yuck expressions. If I remember correctly, one said hers looked like a porcupine. That's what I wanted mine to look like.

The day I bought them, I rushed home, excited and ready to lose the blackheads. Following the directions, I washed my face, left my nose wet, and applied the little strip. My daughter and husband both laughed at me, but I didn't care. With my Biore Pore Perfect strips, I was instantly going to transfer my skin from a mess of pores to a smooth porcelain finish. My plan, however, was short-lived.

Within minutes, (I believe around 10) this strip began to harden around my nose, becoming uncomfortable. No problem, I thought, it will be worth it. By the time it was completely dry, however, it felt more like a cast than anything else. Way harder than I imagined. Still, I wasn't worried.

The horror began when the time came to remove the strip. Tears sprang to my eyes and I was forced to remove only a small section at a time to keep the pain from becoming unbearable. With each tug, my mouth would water as the pain shot through my face. I wondered if other women experienced such difficulty in removing the strips. I still do. In all, I believe it took around 15 minutes to remove it.

Beauty is pain, right? Well, my face looked terrible. My nose and the area around it were swollen and a dark red color, prompting a "hey Rudolph" from my husband. My skin was stinging and my eyes were still watering, but I still wasn't disappointed. I flipped the bathroom light on and stuck my face close to the mirror, checking out my skin. My pores were worse. The were bigger and appeared dirtier and I assume the strip pulled the dirt to near the surface, but didn't fully remove it. A quick look at the strip told me not much had come out. I think I was expecting a small city to be left on the strip. It was then that I became disappointed. What do I think about the Biore Pore Perfect strip?

Never again.

First time I used them, and it was fairly painful removing the strips on the outside edges. The center wasn't too bad. My eyes were watering up, but it wasn't horrible pain. Sadly, not much came off, and it only pulled the blackheads more toward the surface. My nose was a little red, but not too bad. I'll wait about three days and try again and see what happens.

you're a wuss, these things are the jam! i leave mine on until it is completely dry then rip it right off. it is NOT painful unless you have extremely sensitive skin or are a baaaaabbyyyyy!

You're not supposed to let it dry to the point where it feels like a cast. You should not leave it on for more than 5-8 minutes.

Although they do work, 2 out of 4 times my skin on my nose has swollen up, turned a darker shade and is so painful to the touch. Strangley, it's just on the bridge of my nose?? Anybody else ever had this problem? I have no allergies.

Also, I'm wondering if the lady who wrote the review (and some of the others that had major problems using them) had some kind of allergic reaction. Can't imagine that they could have gotten them to market with people having those kind of reactions unless the reactions were atypical.

I just used the strips and had no problems at all. I do recommend removing them after no more than 10 minutes otherwise it will hurt more than neccesary. Also, I have really really sensitive skin but still - no problems using them. The nose strips worked very effectively for me. I don't think the face ones work very well though so I would recommend saving your money and skipping those.

Use toner before you use them!! And if you have sensitive skin, they are definitely a no.

It makes me wonder if you have sensitive skin or if you're just a baby - honestly, 15 minutes to rip off a strip? Hold your skin taut and PULL - you probably wouldn't have had so much inflammation if you had just pulled it off instead of playing with it for 15 minutes. You aren't supposed to leave it on longer than 10 anyway, so I wonder how long after 10 minutes (when it wasn't "hard" as you put it) you left it.

i don't know why you are all having bad experiences with this product cause it works wonders for me and it's fun looking at all the gunk and blackheads it pulls off my nose. i love it!

I've used these multiple times. Never had a problem works amazing. I would say the pain is equivalent to peeling off a band aid thats been there for a while, doesn't feel good but I certainly didn't cry... lol

Never had any irritation, just good results. :) To each his own I suppose! Worth the money in my opinion though. :)
