Due to all the medication I am on due to my disease, I have dry mouth and I hate it. However, one of oral care products I have been using to help relieve my dry mouth is the Biotene Dry Mouth Oral Rinse. It seems to help keep my mouth moist and I do not seem to be waking up in the middle of the night to often needing a glass of water.
The Biotene Dry Mouth Oral Rinse comes in a large 33-ounce bottle, which so far has lasted me two weeks. I think I can get another week worth out of the bottle. Anyways, the oral rinse inside the bottle is different from many because it is thick like olive oil with a mint taste. The taste and texture of the oral rinse does take a bit to get use to, but after a couple of uses and seeing how moist your mouth stays, you will see the rinse is worth using. The ingredients in the oral rinse that helps prevent the mouth from drying out are aloe, peppermint oil, calcium lactate, zinc gluconate, sodium benzoate, propylene glycol, hydroxycellulose, hydrogenated starch, potassium, water, xylitol and benzoic acid. These ingredients also kill the germs in the mouth that cause cavities and gum disease. I personally have noticed my teeth getting stronger with daily rinsing with this product.
The first things I do before using this oral rinse is brush and floss my teeth well. Then I pour about 3 tablespoons of the rinse into a small cup, pour it into my mouth, swish it around for a minute and spit it out. The oral rinse does not sting or burn. My mouth does feel clean after using this oral rinse and my mouth does seem to stay mouth for up to 6 hours, but I usually brush, floss and rinse my mouth out with this oral rinse about 3 times per day. I like too always have my mouth fresh and clean.
I would recommend the Biotene Dry Mouth Oral rinse to anyone looking for an oral care product that really does help with relieving dry mouth because as I mentioned it works well for me. I do think the oral rinse is a bit on the pricy side, but I feel the product is of high quality and well worth the cost. I do hope those of you who try this oral care rinse like it as much as I do.
