Review of Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Rigatoni and Vegetables in Tomato Parmesan Sauce

When I was looking for something new to serve for lunch, I found Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Rigatoni and Vegetables in Tomato Parmesan Sauce.

I wondered what vegetables were in the Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Rigatoni and Vegetables in Tomato Parmesan Sauce since it wasn't listed on the front of the bag. I was surprised when I read the ingredients listed only crushed tomatoes yellow peppers, red peppers and spinach. I had hoped for zuchini, carrots or something similar, fortunately I was happy with the tomatoes, peppers and spinach. It would have been nice if the specific vegetables were listed on the front for easier reference.

I cooked the bag according to microwave directions, but there is also instructions for stovetop cooking listed. Since the Birds Eye Steamfresh bag is designed to steam cook in the microwave, it makes more sense to use the microwave, but it is nice to have other options in case microwaving isn't available.

Within minutes the scent of Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Rigatoni and Vegetables in Tomato Parmesan Sauce filled the kitchen. It smelled delicious! Although I was only slightly hungry before I cooked it, I was starving after smelling it, and my mouth watered in anticipation.

When it was finished and I poured it into a serving bowl, I got my first look at my lunch. I was pleased to see a plentiful amount of spinach. The tomato Parmesan sauce covered everything in sight without drowning it. There was a moderate amount of peppers, however I didn't see any crushed tomatoes. Perhaps the tomatoes were assimilated into the tomato sauce.

The smell of the Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Rigatoni and Vegetables in Tomato Parmesan Sauce could only be rivaled by the great taste. The homemade quality was delightful. Unfortunately, many people blanch at the mention of spinach despite its inherent nutritional value.

Nutrition is as important as taste. That is why I was pleased to see that a single serving contributed twenty percent needed of Vitamin A, twenty-five percent of Vitamin C, ten percent iron and eight percent calcium. A serving also contributes five grams of fat and four hundred milligrams of sodium.

I bought my bag of Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Rigatoni and Vegetables in Tomato Parmesan Sauce at the local Walmart store for one dollar and seventy-eight cents. However, Birds Eye is available at most quality grocery stores such as Kroger and Super Kmart.
