I found my Bissell Powerforce Bagless at a local BigLots store for $49.99. My old vacuum was also a Bissell, though a different model. It lasted for quite awhile, so I wasn't too worried about the quality.
I could not help but compare my new Bissell Powerforce to my old vacuum. In comparing it it failed in just two areas. This vacuum has a really, really short cord. I have to plug it up in each room I vacuum. My old vacuum did my whole house by just being plugged up in one room, and my house is small so it doesn't take much cord to accomplish that. But this new Bissell vacuum can't even do that. I found that a bit frustrating because finding a socket in some rooms of my house is not as easy because they have furniture covering them. Maybe that is common for vacuums to have shorter cords, but I have only one other vacuum previously and the cord was several times longer than this one.
The second thing that failed in my comparison with my old vacuum is the suction hose. The suction hose on my new Powerforce is short and stiff. My old one had a suction hose that was very long, flexible and easily stretchable to make it even longer. I was hoping I didn't have to live with this new hose. With that, I remember both vacuums were the same brand and tried to see if my old hose would fit on this new vacuum. Thankfully, it did! With just a little tweaking, I was able to make this vacuum the vacuum I wanted and remembered.
With the exception to those two issues not matching up to my old vacuum, the most important part, the suction, is great. The Bissell Powerforce Bagless has great powerful suction. It picks up dirt and things on my carpet the first run through. On my kitchen floor, once I turned it on without even moving it and it sucked up some hair and dirt that was not under it or even directly in front, just from it standing there turned on. So, I am very happy with its suction power.
I have a long-haired cat that seems to explode fur all over my house. The Bissell Powerforce Bagless 6358 has no problem sucking all the fur up. It doesn't get caught anywhere. It goes straight to the canister, so much so I have to dump it every time I vacuum.
It comes with just the basic on-board attachments. It includes a crevice tool and one of the small brush tools that most people don't know what to do with. It also includes an extender to put on the hose.
The vacuum is fairly easy to clean. I find the canister easy to use, but if you have allergies, it might be a problem because the dust flies up a little and it can be just a little messy. I figure the only way to get around that is to buy a bagged vacuum. The canister that holds the dirt is a little tricky to get back in, though it is easy to get out. All the filters are washable, which is a plus, so you don't have to buy expensive filters over and over again. The downside is there is no HEPA filter, which some people like. That, though, is OK with me.
If you are looking for an inexpensive vacuum that works well, I would recommend the Bissell Powerforce Bagless 6358. I think it is a great deal for the price and the power it has.
