Review of the Black & Decker One-Touch Chopper

misty21
This past Christmas my son gave me a new mini chopper. My old chopper broke. He chose the Black & Decker One- Touch Chopper. I do a lot of cooking, and I use plenty of green bell peppers, onions and celery. I don't want to spend forever chopping these vegetables by hand. I use my black & Decker chopper at least 2 to 3 times a week.

Black & Decker One- Touch Chopper Info:

*** This chopper comes with a 2 year warranty

*** The chopper has a removable bowl and blade. The bowl holds 1 1/2 cups.

*** The bowl and lid are dishwasher safe.

*** The electrical cord is a pretty decent length, and may be used with an extension cord if needed.

*** Features a Stay- Sharp Blade, which is very sharp.

*** There is a Safety lock lid, which provides security for you when using the chopper.

*** Features a 1 touch pulse action button. Note: You should avoid running the the motor for over 1 minute. The longer the pulse action, the finer the texture of the food will be.

*** Cleaning the chopper. Unplug the chopper before cleaning. Do not put the base in any type of water, just wipe it off. The bowl, lid and blade can be washed in hot soapy water, or placed on the top rack in the dishwasher.

*** Some helpful safety precautions to take note of: Unplug unit from outlet when not in use, avoid contact with moving parts, never immerse base, cord or plug in water, don't operate with a damaged cord or plug, or any other part of the unit, don't use chopper outdoors, be careful with the blade as it is sharp, make sure the cover is in the locked position before using the chopper, always supervise children if they are using the chopper.

Processing foods:

Be sure to break up most foods before placing them in the chopper. One reason being you don't want to damage the chopper, another reason being the food needs to be processed properly and have room to chop and move around freely.

Here are some foods that can be placed in the chopper:

*** Fruits & vegetables, fresh and canned.
*** Breads, fresh, stale and even toasted
*** Fresh Herbs
*** Nuts
*** Chocolate squares and chocolate chips
*** Crackers and cookies

My experience:

I love this chopper and it really works great. I have used it for many different vegetables. I have also used it to grind up cooked corned beef and cooked sausage ( casings removed ) to make hash with, as well as rough chopping ham to make salad. I have chopped walnuts for cookies, as well I have chopped whole canned tomatoes in the chopper. The Black & Decker chopper works very well. I have not had any problems with it, and it makes my life so much easier. I have always trusted Black & Decker products because they really do hold up and last a long time. So if you are in the market for a mini chopper I would suggest Black & Decker.
