Review of Black Radiance Radiant Lip Gloss in "Copper Glow"

The Pen
I bought a tube of Black Radiance Radiant Lip Gloss in Copper Glow awhile back from Walgreen's for $2.99 I thought the Copper Glow shade was sparkly and pretty and I just knew the shade would look perfect on me.

Black Radiance's Radiant Lip Gloss comes in a chunky rectangular c-thru tube with a gold lid. The Copper Glow shade is a light coppery orange color like a new penny, and it has lots of gold flecks in them.

When I first used the Radiant lip gloss I really loved it because it made my lips looks shiny and radiant just as the gloss says. The gold flecks gave me a fine shimmer all over my lips that just instantly brightened up my whole face like my lips were glowing.

The Copper Glow color looked really natural on my lips and it came across as more of a sheer gold color. And I liked that the lip gloss felt creamy and rich when I first put it on.

I thought I found the best lip gloss, but after I used it for a few days I found flaws with it. The fact that the Black Radiance Radiant Lip Gloss is creamy is a good thing, but it does feel way too thick and heavy. It kind of suffocated my lips like I put a layer of plastic over them, which is not how I wanted my lips to feel, especially when I used it last summer.

Besides feeling heavy this gloss also feels really sticky. It feels weird and uncomfortable and whenever the winds blew my hair it got stuck to my lips every time whenever I used the Radiant gloss.

The thing that really made me fall out of love with this gloss is that it leaves a build-up. It would wear off throughout the day whenever I ate or drank, so if I re-applied it a few times by the end of the day my lips would feel grimy like it had too much residue on it. It was too high-maintenance for me, in order for it to look good I needed to clean my lips off each time I used it.

In the end, I think the color of the Black Radiance Radiant Copper Glow Lip Gloss is great. It did make my lips really nice and radiant, but for me the formula for the gloss itself sucked, it's too thick and smothering, so I don't use it anymore. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a great color, not a great lip gloss. 2.5 out 5 stars.
