I was a little startled at first when Selleck's character Frank Reagan was gunned down at the start of the "Dedication" episode of "Blue Bloods." But I quickly figured out there was now way Tom Selleck would be killed off in the first season.
The whole Reagan family then starts to track down the shooter of Frank and try to figure out if he was really the target. I really like how the "Dedication" episode of "Blue Bloods" showed the talents of Donnie Wahlberg as I think he did a great job during that show.
Of course the Reagan's do the whole family thing by staying in the hospital all night as Frank is in there recovering from his gun shot wounds. When the family is assured that Frank will be ok they begin working in earnest to find the shooter.
Ok here is a "Blue Bloods" spoiler alert for the "Dedication" episode. During the investigation of Frank Reagan's shooting an informant is turned up. The man that drove the car Frank was shot from is willing to turn in the shooter in exchange for immunity.
Immunity is not offered but before more talks between the informant and the cops can happen, the informant is stabbed by Rory .Rory Brennan is played well by Tracey Howe who according toImdb.com was the first actor to appear in all three Law & Order shows. Tracey Howe has a nice list of appearances in many television shows and I thought he did a good job on "Blue Bloods."
At one point Rory takes a nurse hostage and shoots her (wounding her) before Danny Reagan catches up with him and kills him. It is later determined that Rory's brother Kevin (Jack Gwaltney) is the actual shooter of Frank.
Kevin Brennan tries to make another attempt on Frank's life at a memorial for Frank's son Joe. The Reagan's foil this attempt and Frank is saved from being shot again. I thought this was a good episode of "Blue Bloods" and am glad they didn't kill off Tom Selleck's character

Post a CommentAnd yes I am aware of the typo in the title, but I don't think I can fix it.
I've seen this show a few times but missed this episode. Good review.
Tom Selleck looks pretty similar to his Magnum days.
