Review of Boca Vegetarian Foods

The vegetarian options at the grocery store are becoming tastier and tastier thanks to the growing number of people who are embracing vegetarianism.

One such product available is Boca. Boca makes all sorts of vegetarian frozen foods from veggie burgers to breakfast sandwiches. Boca's products are delicious and healthy, and you and your family will not miss meat at all.

Boca products have been around since 1993 and every year, the company builds on their great tasting selection by adding more vegetarian delights.

Here is a list of my picks for best Boca products.

1) Boca Original Vegan:

This veggie burger is totally vegan and is truly a delight for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters who are concerned about their health. Made from soy protein, the Original Vegan contains a healthy 70 calories and less than 1 gram of fat. Also, the burger contains only 6 grams of carbohydrates for those vegetarians who watch their carb intake. It also contains a whopping 13 grams of protein. The Original Vegan burger does have a soy taste to it, but it can be tasty with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on a hamburger bun. Add some lettuce, tomato, and onion to make it healthier and even more authentic tasting.

2) Roasted Onion and Roasted Garlic:

Both of these burgers are also completely vegan. They are made from soy protein, but have a little more flavor than the Original Vegan does. Both burgers contain 70 calories and less than 2 grams of fat. They are also low in carbohydrates and contain 12 grams of protein, so they are a great option for anyone following an Atkins type diet.

3) Original Chik'n Patties and Spicy Chik'n Patties

I really love the chicken patties because they have a nice texture and can be eaten alone or on a bun with condiments. Boca chicken patties are a little higher in fat and calories than the burgers, but they are still healthy compared to their meat counterparts. The patties contain 160 calories and 6 grams of fat. They are relatively low carb with 15 grams and somewhat high in protein with 11 grams. The spicy chicken patties contain exactly the same amount of fat, calories, carbs, and protein as the original, but they also have a definite bite to them. If you like your chicken zesty, then you'll love the spicy chicken. The chicken patties and spicy chicken patties are delicious and I very much recommend them. Be careful not to overcook them because they will get hard if left in the microwave to long.

There are several other burgers available at the grocery store that are made by Boca, but they contain cheese. I was not aware of this fact until I read the box, but beware of this when buying veggie burgers if you are a vegan. The Boca veggie burgers that contain cheese as an ingredient are the Grilled Vegetable Burger, the Cheeseburger (obviously), and the All American Flame Grilled Burger.
