As with other loyalty or often referred to as "get paid to" websites, you are rewarded for shopping, reading emails, doing surveys and accepting personalized offers. You are rewarded with points that they call "Bond Rewards". The number of "Bond Rewards" you receive depends on what you purchase.
To get started with BondRewards.com all you need to do is sign up. It is totally free to sign up. Once you are signed up take a few minutes to answer a few short surveys about yourself. You will be rewarded 16.5 Bond Rewards for just answering the surveys. This is a great start to get started by getting you a third of the way toward earning your first Savings Bond. After you answer the surveys just start shopping for the items you would normally buy and you earn even more. You will also have the chance to earn Bond Rewards by reading occasional emails that inform you of specials. The emails pay you .05 Bond Rewards for each one read.
The process is simple. When you want to make an online purchase simply go to the Bond Rewards website and log in. Do a search for what you want to buy and make the purchase. The percentage of the sale that is rewarded to you will be next to the store description. Take for instance if you like to shop at Zappos.com, at the time of this writing you will earn 20.4% of your purchase in Bond Rewards. So a $100 purchase will get you 20.4 Bond Rewards.
Once your Bond Rewards account reaches the 50 point mark you can redeem them for a $50 Series EE U.S. Savings Bond. Series EE Bonds are purchased at ½ the face value and can be held and earn interest until it has matured. Currently Series EE Bonds earn a fixed rate of 3%. You can decide to redeem your bonds right away if you wish but if you do so in the first 5 years you will forfeit your 3 most recent month's interest. If you hold them for longer than 5 years there is no penalty.
So why go with BondRewards.com over other loyalty programs if you are rewarded with Savings Bonds instead of cash? Well it makes sense to me because the money I earn from other rewards programs doesn't amount to what I would consider a large amount of money. It is nice to use for the little extras that you want but to actually use the money for savings takes discipline. If investing and saving money is one of your goals this is a great way to get started. If you are like many of us, we simply do not save enough for our future.
Just think about how many hundreds or even thousands of dollars you spend each year on clothing, gifts, electronics, office supplies, pet supplies, books, magazines the list is endless. Now how much of that money could you spend through BondRewards.com and get something more for your money? With two teen-aged daughters in my home it is very easy to spend $1000 a year just in clothes, items that they will wear for about half the year and then it gets donated to local charities. What if I could get 10%, 15% or even 20% of the money I am already spending back and help meet my savings and retirement goals? With BondRewards.com I can do just that.
Our family has enjoyed shopping with BondRewards.com so much that we have made Bond Rewards our primary rewards website to shop with. We are excited to be earning U.S. Savings Bonds to give to our children as gifts and to help us save for our future needs.

You also have to check that your purchase is credited to your account. They say that some stores can take up to 35 days to report a purchase but after 45 days if you're not credited you get zip, zilch, nada. If they can't get it working correctly you'll be spending all your time tracking your purchases and looking for the "ticket number" you need. Sounded good but after losing credits for purchases in the hundreds of dollars and Bond Rewards blaming the participating for not reporting their sales I really wonder if it's worth it. Some of us have other things to do some of which are really important like caring for my terminally ill mother
I use this site, and I'm OK with it, but I was much better off when ebay was on the list of stores. I was told after Christmas that you would get ebay back, but it's not happening. Why?
I tried this out. I worked hard to earn my amount and went to redeem my 50 for the Savings bond. Imagne my surprise when I am told NOPE I still have to SHOP and earn actual points from shopping to earn This was never posted in any FAQ's but than this could be because there is none.
I am so upset that i wasted my time for nothing. I have emailed them and will update with further info By the way is it only my bad eyesite that has problems finding a contact email?? I click FAQ and it says contact by email BUT gives none There is also NO contact link given as most sites do. i guess what ai am saying ios it seems shady and well I would lopvge top hear from anyone who has actually gotten their rewards.
How interesting. I'll have to take a look. Thanks for the info!
