At 7009 Coastal Highway, The Bonfire grabs your attention first with the huge "The Bonfire" sign that is bright red and yellow with an animated flame. Then you see another large sign that simply states "Seafood and Prime Rib Buffet Over 100 Feet!" That sign alone was enough to lure someone in! The outside of The Bonfire was simple and resembled a country feeling...until you walk in the door and are bombarded by upscale elegance.
Two large aquariums sit underneath a sparkling chandelier in the lobby. The aquariums held several gorgeous exotic fish and the tanks were spotless. The hostess that led us to our seats was very polite and friendly. The tables were large with fancy white table cloths and surprisingly over sized silverware.
Walking through The Bonfire Restaurant was like walking through a maze. One hundred feet of buffet tables set up strategically to guide you from one course to the next. For $30 per person you can enjoy the delicious array of shrimp, crap, salmon, seafood pastas, carved to order meats, rolls, muffins, veggies, and so much more. I can honestly say that I tried a little bit of everything. The tuna and crab was out of this world. I tried to stay away from the normal buffet items such as fried shrimp, pizza, and onion rings, but they were so good! You have to try everything at The Bonfire! It was unlike any buffet we had eaten at thus far.
Make room for dessert! The dessert section seemed small; however it appeared that it varied each trip up to the table. It almost seemed like they put twenty or so places of three different desserts then change it up each round. I could only make enough room for the chocolate cake and red velvet cake, both of which were fluffy, moist, and hit the sweet tooth spot.
The Bondire was hands down the cleanest, most delicious and worthwhile buffet we have tried in Ocean City, Maryland so far. To highly recommend this restaurant is an understatement.
