Review of Boston Market Frozen Dinners - Inexpensive and Tasty

Chris Tidwell
Ok So eating on a budget can be tasteless to say the least, however the people at Boston Market have a complete line of dinners and side dishes that are designed to fit your budget, and taste great. Boston Market has long been known for the great food, both with meats and vegetables, and now the convenience and taste of those foods come in easy microwavable form.

The average dinner will only cost you a few bucks and tastes a lot better then eating at a fast food restaurant. The Boston Market frozen dinners are very affordable and easy to prepare. You can use your conventional oven to prepare the food, but the microwave is just much faster and easier, and from experience the result is just the same. Within about 8 minuets you have a complete meal, hot and ready to go!

The variety of the food amazes me. They have everything from meatloaf, chicken, pork, any kind of high quality meat you can think of, and the choices of side dishes is numerous. You can mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, corn muffins, there are just to many combinations to list.

The food quality is not what you might expect form a traditional frozen dinner. Boston Market frozen dinners deliver high quality food that tastes fresh even after being in your freezer. We have all had those frozen dinners that come out soggy, of tastes very bland, well that's just not the case with anything that I have ever had with Boston Market dinners. Everything they make from the way the meat is cooked, to the gravy you put over your mashed potatoes taste almost home made, almost. The only complaint I would have is that the mashed potatoes sometimes end up runny if not prepared just right, but none the less they still taste great!

Now I'll admit that I'm no health nut by any means, but the nutrition of these meals does leave something to be desired. The food is very good, as far as taste goes but not that good for your body. The average meal will have sodium and carbohydrate levels that might actually scare you. The Mashed Potatoes and Meatloaf dinner has about 2000 grams of sodium, just for that one meal! So in the health department I would be concerned about these dinners.

So my overall assessment of the Boston Market frozen dinners is that they are great to have every now and again, but don't get too hooked on them. They have very reasonable prices for the amount and quality of food, taste great, but are lacking in nutrition. Anyway you look at it though Boston Market frozen dinners are great alternatives to the mundane food you will normally be eating while on a tight budget.

I absolutely loved the flavor more than anybody elses frozen microwaveable dinners, however I was completely disapointed with the potatoes. Both times I cooked the meal I followed the instructions to the tee, and both times the mashed potatoes were as runny as soup. I hope you can work that out.

We are never buying them in my house again as the new trays must be microwaved. We don't use a microwave in my house, only an oven.

We don't get tv dinners very often, but when we do we always go for the Boston Market ones. They really do taste much better than most frozen dinners. I never looked at the nutritional information, but I guess you can't expect to get everything. ;)
