Sitting down with friends or family to a large platter of freshly made Buffalo wings is one of the most underappreciated meals these days. Good times usually ensue when gathering with peers to watch a game over a pile of wings and drummies and a tasty cold beverage. As I have long been a fan of hot wings, I felt inclined to offer up a review of this Buffalo wild wing franchise that is located at 810 Commons Drive within the Geneva Commons mall in Geneva, Illinois. While I have visited other Buffalo Wild Wing locations throughout the U.S., I believe there to be a lack of consistency with regards to food and service quality amongst locations thus making it impossible to base an overall opinion on the restaurant as a whole.

Food

The menu offers up a little of everything, though the niche item is chicken. Take your pick as you can get wings in a variety of different flavors with or without bones. Chicken is also served up in wrap and sandwich fashion. Those that do not desire chicken can try their luck at other items that include burgers, ribs, vegetable patty and much more. The wing side accompaniments include the traditional blue cheese and celery and also several potato dishes which include wedges and curly fries. Should you want to dupe yourself into thinking you can be healthy, there a few tasty salad selections.

Generally the wings are pretty decent, though they cannot compare to the now defunct Buffalo wings and Rings franchise that was previously located in St Charles a few years back. I generally will order between eight to a dozen garlic hot wings that can be very crispy and tasty some nights, or very soggy on others. I have a low patience for wings that come off tasting like they were baked in an oven and set in a bowl of sauce to get gummy

Service

The service experience at Buffalo Wild Wings in Geneva can be spotty at best. I have frequented this location about a dozen times in the past five years and had about a fifty percent good quality success rate. The negative experiences can be chalked up to servers getting our orders mixed up, long waits in between drink orders, or even experiencing our table getting served orders piecemeal with kids getting served last. Asking and receiving a bill is also an occasional long process. It is this reason alone that about a third of my visits are completed in carryout fashion.

Ambience

The allure to coming to Buffalo Wild Wings is attributed to being a sports nut. There several large and small flat screen televisions located throughout the bar and restaurant area makes this Buffalo Wing location very hospital to take in an afternoon or evening of your favorite football team. Even if you team is not locale, it is generally a safe bet the bar tender will be able to get the game for you.

This restaurant is also very compatible for families with younger children. Several booths offer up video game systems in addition to the juke box located on the west wall

Parking

Parking at Buffalo Wild Wings in Geneva can be quite cumbersome depending upon the time and day of visiting. The parking lots at Geneva Commons are poor for starters. Often times, the lot will be full long before the dinner rush as the restaurant has patrons strictly for drinks and a game. The lot sits adjacent to a bank and a Red Lobster which also fills up very quickly. There have been a few visits to this location for which I had to park several hundred feet from the restaurant just to find a space.

My overall impression of this particular BWW location is that it is a good place to hang with friends or family for an occasional treat of chicken wings, a cold beer and perhaps take in a football or hockey game. While I generally get crispy wings in my order, I still give this joint an average grade due to the extremely limited parking availability.
