Review of Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli

Scrumptious Italian Foods - Frozen Ravioli?

Ranee Wright
Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli with Garlic Butter Sauce is a new frozen Italian food available at your grocery story. It is a "complete meal for two" and then some! Often times, frozen ravioli is rubbery. I am Italian so naturally I love Italian foods. This review of Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli will cover whether or not it passes the Italian pasta test. The cost, nutrition, overall taste and more information about this frozen Italian food that you may not expect will also be revealed.

Review of Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli

I sampled this frozen Italian food and asked my friend to give me his review of Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli as well. If you love seafood you will not be disappointed with the frozen ravioli from Buitoni. My friend said it was very good. I thought it was lacking lobster but had nice junks of shrimp. The overall taste is fresh scrumptious seafood and perfect noodles.

The first night I sampled Buitoni's Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli I had no complaints. The second night, my friend and I had the leftovers. We both agreed this frozen Italian food left us very gassy. Therefore, I would definitely not recommend this frozen ravioli for a first date!

My only suggestion to this manufacturer of frozen Italian foods would be to offer their frozen ravioli with a variety of sauces. Buitoni's Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli would be fabulous with vodka sauce instead of the garlic butter.

Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli Cost and Nutrition

For two large servings (1 lb, 6 oz), you cannot beat the price for Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli. I live in central PA and paid only $8.50 for this yummy frozen Italian food that is two hefty servings. Like most frozen foods, Buitoni's Italian dish is high in fat, cholesterol and sodium. On the flip side it is high in Vitamin C and has protein too.

This frozen ravioli passes the Italian pasta test, right down to the gas. The pasta contains a large amount of Semolina, a nice texture, and there is just enough sauce. A review of Buitoni Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli ingredients supports my desire for more lobster since it is the eighth ingredient listed. However, I believe this frozen Italian food could be passed off as homemade.

I'll admit it, I'm fat, and there's not a whole lot that I don't like to eat. I love pasta, shrimp, lobster, and garlic butter, but what happened? We had this meal tonight and it is awful. Buitoni will never trick me again with the pretty pictures and great description of what they try to pass off as edible. It's nasty.

This was absolutely HORRIBLE! I would rather buy Walmart brand pasta (Marketside) which is MUCH BETTER and less than half the cost! The sauce tasted like it had already been digested and reserved. The pasta itself, you would think they were made by Ramen. The seafood was the best part, but that was only because Buitoni had nothing to do with it. An ABSOLUTE WASTE of nine dollars (w/ tax). I LOVE Italian food, but I will NEVER buy Buitoni as long as I'm in my right mind. I would rather buy at a restaurant and tip the waiter than buy this crap fest again.

Anything with shrimp in it has to be good, right?

You guys, this meal was horrendous! best of luck to all of you planing on trying it, but we had it last week, and ended up giving it to the pet dogs. It might have been a really good meal had it not been for the sauce, but I couldn't get past the extremely overpowering garlic sauce. I am a huge lover of Italian foods and other ethnic foods- Indian food is my absolute favor. However, this meal is just not worth it. You'd be better off purchasing a Marie Callender's meal. I am happy to say that their Chicken and Spinish Cannelonni is good though. The Shrimp & Raviolli with garlic butter is NOT!!!!!

Are you kidding me? This stuff is appaling. Skip the sauce, you should just pour salt down your throat, with 49% of thr RDA of sodium in a servie, this stuff is downright dangerous to eat.
