We needed some place that offered food for children and adults. California Pizza covers all bases . This is well located on the perimeter of this very upscale mall. Parking was extremely easy even though this was a Saturday evening. There is valet parking available as well. You can do some wonderful shopping. This is located between Nordstrom's and Saks.
You have your choice of indoor or outdoor seating when you enter the restaurant. There is outdoor eating with protective plastic "curtains" so that you have the good weather but no wind, no rain, nothing flying into your plates. You can choose to eat inside. The restaurant inside is beautifully decorated, highly air conditioned but not too noisey, nicely laid out and well decorated.
The wait staff is very attentive and the manager is within the area at all times checking to see that you are being served correctly. There is a big screen television with news being broadcast . There are subtitles so there is no extra noise. Considering this is a place that attracts families the noise level was absolutely no problem.
The restaurant is wheelchair accessible.
The menu is a compilation of pizzas, sandwiches, salads, soups and appetizers. There is a $5.49 children's menu as well.
We had fried artichokes, Crispy Artichoke Hearts (3.99) with a lovely dip. It was nice but basically tasted like fry. Nice fry but just fry. The dip was a must to make this dish special. You can get white Corn Guacamole and Chips and many other appetizers..
The children had plain pasta with butter or macaroni and cheese ($5.49 per order). It would be smart to order one dish for every two children since the portions are large. Bread was brought to the table once we brought the fact that it was missing to the waiter's attention.
One person ordered Chicken Piccata ($15.49), chicken with angel hair pasta. That party loved it and took a lot home, again a very large portion. I had a grilled vegetable sandwich. It was delicious and half went home with me it was so rich and large. ($9.99). Two soups were ordered, a Dakota Pea Soup which was supposed to be a White Bean Soup. This was red and tasted like spagetti sauce with a zing ($3.99), hubby liked it. I did not. The other soup was Tuscan Minestrone. We had one order of Miso Salad ( with Chicken $12.99). This was supposed to be a Miso salad with seafood but there was a mix up. Our waiter was new so this wasn't the usual occurance. One person had pasta with sauce and hated it, I tasted that. It was awful. It actually tasted just like the soup that I had disliked. We sent this back. Four Cheese Ravioli was another entree (($11.99). This was a smaller portion compared to other people orders. It was well liked.
Other children's items were Cheeseburger, Honey Chicken, Mushroom Pepperoni Pizza, and more and children under 10 get pizza or pasta and a choice of a fountain drink, milk, lemonade, apple juice and free refills. Pizza can be thin crust or thick your choice.
None of us had dessert since none of us could even finish the food we ordered. These were all $5.49.
Sweet Corn Ravioli will be something I will try next visit. There is a Southwestern line offering Fish Tacos and Steak Tacos. You can get other great fish dishes like Wild Caught Mahi Mahi or Blue Crab Cakes. Try Norwegian Atlantic Salmon in a sweet ginger sauce with wok style veggies.
There are many other salads, Wedge Salad with bits or real bacon and small bits of egg, Asparagus & Arugula,Mediterannean. There are other nice appetizers. You can order half a glass of wine, beer, Margaritas and special drinks like Beverly Hills Tea, Peach Breeze or a Twisted Colada. You can get all sorts of Martinis, Apple, Cosmo, Lemon Drop, Raspberry Drop. They offer an assortment of Mojitos, Passion Fruit, Mango and more. Regular drinks include your milks, teas and lemonade with free refill or specialty coffees and teas or smoothies.
If you have allergies or are a vegetarian there are plenty of items you can find here and you can get all the information you need regarding these.
You can order online, they do party planning and catering. You can have a kids party here and the children will learn to cook If you register your child you will get a free meal during his or her birthday month.
This is a really a pretty perfect place despite our little salad mix up. Our waiter was new we found out so it's perfectly understandable. I would highly recommend California Pizza. It's a chain that has international locations as well. The chain was developed by two lawyers in 1985.
I would highly recommend Califronia Pizza for a family, a group, a party or for catering. The food is quite good as are the prices.
