Review of Camel's New Blend of Cigarettes

Johanna Swith
The RJ Reynolds Company introduced a new blend of camel cigarettes to replace their old blend at the beginning of 2008. I have been a Camel Light smoker for many years and I will admit that I was not only curious about this new blend, but I was also slightly apprehensive. What if I didn't like the new taste as much as the old? What brand would I switch to, or would I give up my 'nasty habit'? I have heard so many comments, facts and opinions about smoking cigarettes, but I still believe that it is my choice, and I still have the right to purchase and use cigarettes if I want to.

Well, the new blend of Camel begins with new artwork on the packaging. It is pleasing to the eye, and why would anyone complain about the packaging? I enjoyed the new blend, It is subtle, delicious and sticks to the traditional Camel cigarettes flavor. I didn't realize how much I preferred the new blend until I purchased a pack of the old blend. Wow, how did I smoke and enjoy those compared to the newer and improved Camel blends?

I am most pleased with the slight improvements to a product I have used and enjoyed for years. If you are curious about the new blends and you are a Marlboro or Basic smoker, I would encourage you to sample a Camel, you will probably enjoy the new smooth flavor of Camel.

The face of Camel has been changing. Long past are the days of Joe Camel, C Notes, or Camel Cash as it was other wise known. You won't get free packs in the mail anymore or many other rewards as you could enjoy long ago. I understand the efforts that RJ Reynolds puts forth to make the habit of smoking less luxurious. As if you are not a smoker you should not start the habit. It is expensive, it can be damaging to your health, and it is very socially unacceptable today.

However, it is a free country, and in my opinion alcohol is so much more dangerous to your health, and the health of others as compared to cigarettes. I am a smoker, it is my right, and I am courteous enough to not be obnoxious about my choices. I appreciate that Camel is changing their products to better suit the consumers who purchase their product, regardless of how controversial it may be.
