According to the Charlotte Observer, Carowinds will add another new attraction for guest beginning next summer. The attraction will be called "Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular" that will cost around $1 million dollars to design and build. It will be a nighttime walk-through light and sound attraction that features Snoopy and the Peanut gang. With the new attraction next year, Carowinds will extend its operating hours as well, so that guests can see the light display.

All the lights that will be used for the Snoopy Starlight Spectacular at Carowinds will feature a combination of low energy and high efficiency LED lighting. The lights will be on buildings and trees from County Fair to the entrance of Planet Snoopy. The lights will provide animated lights with music to complete the display.

Carowinds has been expanding their entertainment offering over the past couple of years. With the addition of the new rollercoaster called "The Intimidator" which is the fastest and tallest rollercoaster in the Southeast. The rollercoaster is themed after the late NASCAR driver-Dale Earnhardt. The ride features themes of NASCAR such as victory lane. The specific ride time on the Intimidator is around 3 minutes and 30 seconds and the total track length is 5,316 feet.

Carowinds has around a total of 13 rollercoaster rides to accommodate every age group. If you visit Carowinds during the summer, expect some long lines for rides. However, if you stay around in the late evening most of the day crowd leaves and the ride lines open up a little faster.

However, with the addition of the Snoopy light display happening at night now, you should expect more a lot more kids to be in the park until closing time. Carowinds is big enough to accommodate thousands and thousands of people so enjoying yourself shouldn't be a problem.
