Review of the Char Restaurant Located in Beckley, West Virginia

One great hidden restaurant located in Beckley, West Virginia is "The Char" restaurant that has been in operations in the Beckley area since 1965. The Char serves a wide variety of dishes such as steaks, seafood, Italian cuisines and a full-line of desserts. All meals are priced affordably and the best part is that you don't need a reservation. Also, The Char provides valet parking for guests and you can wear casual attire. The Char has an extensive wine list to accommodate anyone's taste buds.

The Char is open on Monday from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. and from Tuesday to Saturday from 5 p.m. till 10 p.m. However, the restaurant is closed on Sundays.

The staff at The Char is very friendly and goes above and beyond to make your dining experience a pleasurable one. You'll get top quality service while eating at The Char.

Location:

The Char's location is a little off the beaten path if you're not familiar with the Harper Road area. If you're travelling North on I-77 take exit-44, Harper Road exit and turn left at the light and go about half-mile and turn right onto Dry Hill Road. If you're travelling South on I-77 take exit-44, Harper Road exit and turn right and go about a half-mile and turn right on Dry Hill Road. Once you're on Dry Hill Road The Char is about half-mile on the left.

The Char would do much better if the restaurant was located on Harper Road with all the other franchised restaurants such as Outback, Ruby Tuesdays, Hooters, Applebee's and others. But if you're looking for something with a hometown feeling then you should try to find The Char and try some of the local dishes.

Overall, The Char is located in a nice building that is clean and overlooks a pond on the property. Inside the restaurant is very clean and organized to accommodate large groups or just a couple.

Overall, for the price and location The Char is a step-up above the everyday chain restaurants. Even with the location, The Char has been operating out of the same location since 1975. For locals, The Char is easy to find, but for travelers it may be a little out of the way but in reality it's only about one-mile off the Harper Road exit-44 off of I-77.
