I grew up loving the Chef Boyardee brand and so many of their food products. Recently, I came across a can of Chef Boyardee Cheesy Burger Macaroni in the canned soups and ravioli section of my local grocery store. This item caught my macaroni loving attention. I just had to buy it, try it out and write a product review all about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!
I purchased one fifteen ounce can of Chef Boyardee Cheesy Burger Macaroni for under one dollar. I love pasta, tomato sauce and cheeseburgers, so this one appealed to the kid in me, for sure. The picture of this dish, on the outside of the can, made me hungry. It has pasta, cheesy tomato sauce and of course, beef. Yum. I love all of those ingredients, especially together. I discovered many good healthy things about this meal. It is low in saturated fat. It is also protein rich, vitamin and mineral packed, along with having grains and veggies. I could not wait to taste it.
This meal is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. The can has an easy open flip top lid on it and I liked that. I poured the contents of the can into a microwave safe bowl, covered, heated on high a few minutes, uncovered, stirred well and served. This dish surprised me with the funny cut off shaped macaroni. Short mini mac. Actually, that was a good thing. It made the macaroni tender. Very. The cheesy sauce is delightful. The beef is great and overall, this dish is fun and a good mac cheeseburger experience. I loved the flavor and it brought back cool childhood memories of similar dishes, but never one quite like this one. Nice work, Chef Boyardee. I could have used a tad more beef, but I can live without it. I rate Chef Boyardee Cheesy Burger Macaroni four stars out of five stars. I will buy it again, especially if it is on sale.
One serving has 200 calories in it. 50 of those calories are from fat. One serving has 6 grams of total fat, just 2.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 15 grams of cholesterol, 700 mg's of sodium, 360 mg's of sodium, 28 grams of total carbs, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 3 grams of sugars and 9 grams of protein. This product does contain soy, wheat and milk. It provides fifteen percent of daily grains and ten percent of daily veggies.
I enjoyed trying Chef Boyardee Cheesy Burger Macaroni and writing this product review about it. This dish has a creative macaroni cheeseburger taste that must be tried by Chef Boyardee fans. Something different and clever. Kids will like this one. And, I did, too!
