Review of Chesterfield LCD Cleaning Wipes

Chesterfield LCD Wipes: Fab or Fad?

Daisy May
Sometimes it feels like keeping a LCD PC screen clean is a never ending chore. Screens tend to pull in dust and dirt and sometimes the occasional outside bug. Since the LCD screens are too fragile to give a hard washing to, I am always on the lookout for PC LCD screen cleaners that are strong, streak free and yet safe. Chesterfield LCD cleaning wipes is my latest in the search.

Although I was searching for a spray cleaner to buy, I ultimately bought Chesterfield because of the store's almost nonexistent selection. Chesterfield LCD cleaning wipes came in two sizes. I bought the smaller size which came with 24 wipes in a hard plastic case for around two and a half dollars. The larger size contained much more cleaning wipes in a soft plastic pack like some baby cleaning wet wipes are.

The Chesterfield LCD cleaning wipes package claims the wipes are antibacterial. Since the Swine Flu is present in homes and offices, antibacterial LCD screen wipes seem like another great way to prevent the spread of the flu to coworkers and family. The Chesterfield wipes can also be used on keyboards and mice for even more protection.

The Chesterfield LCD wipes are clear and dustless. However, I could not get my screen streak free. While I don't see any streaks when the screen is on, the streaks are very visible when the screen is off and black. Perhaps I expect too much from a LCD screen cleaner, but a streak free shine is the definition of a clean screen to me.

The Chesterfield LCD cleaning wipes are made with extra thin fiber and the sheets themselves are quite thin. The thin sheets tended to dry extraordinarily fast, usually before I had the PC LCD screen cleaned. I decided to use two sheets at a time and found this helped to a small degree. It was almost as if the cleaner wanted to evaporate upon instant air contact.

I will continue to look for a better LCD screen cleaner either in wipes or a spray bottle. Chesterfield is a product that I would buy in the future but it isn't the miracle product that I am looking for.

I agree. These things are TERRIBLE and a scam! I used these on my MacBook's screen and they left streaks everywhere and it's worse off now than it was before. So now I have to get a terry cloth to clean off these streaks that this so called product left.

I agree. These things are terrible. Left streaks all over the screen. Ended up washing the screen with clean water and soft towel dried to remove the streaks left by these "cleaning wipes". What a WASTE OF MONEY.. Don't waste your money buying this JUNK..

These wipes suck! They leave smears marks all over your screen. I bought them when I purchased a new TV and got a few finger prints on the screen while setting up the TV and I had smear marks all over. The screen really wasn't dirty to begin with.
