Review of the Cheyenne, Wyoming Gourmet Burger Restaurant 2 Doors Down

Roy A. Barnes
This is a review of the Cheyenne, Wyoming gourmet burger restaurant 2 Doors Down. The place, which serves lunch and dinner, is named such because the owners, Jerry and Sandy Inniss, actually own a pizzeria restaurant "two doors down" the street. A friend and I ate there as regular customers one recent Friday evening, and what I write are my own observations without any material connection.

Review of the Cheyenne, Wyoming Gourmet Burger Restaurant 2 Doors Down

Upon entering, I noticed a very festive atmosphere immediately, as there were many diners there eating amidst a soundtrack of Adult Contemporary music and a bright-colored atmosphere dominated by a shade of red in airy surroundings. Patrons order at the register first before finding a seat.

Besides hamburgers and cheeseburgers, 2 Doors Down specializes in offering numerous gourmet burgers, like the Pot Roast Burger, Grilled Tuna Burger, and Teriyaki Burger. I chose to dine on the Salmon Burger, which was served with a wheat bun, tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato. The salmon was nice, pink, and moist, and had a good flavor. The accompanying fries are "steak cut" type, which you can order again and again with any burger selection. This Cheyenne, Wyoming gourmet burger restaurant allows for burger entree substitutions of three items; for instance, the toppings of the Teriyaki Burger (teriyaki, pineapple, shredded lettuce, Swiss cheese) can be put on either a veggie burger, broiled chicken or breaded chicken. My friend did just that, as he chose to have a veggie burger substitute to go with his cheeseburger toppings. The prices for the burgers currently range from $7.50-$9.00.

Besides burgers, 2 Doors Down of Cheyenne, Wyoming offers various salads, some of which have fish and chicken, ranging in price from $2.50 (for a side) to $7.95. For those who want appetizers ($2.50-$7.25) before a bigger course, one can dine on such offerings like the Chili Cheese Fries, Hot Wings, and Southwestern Eggrolls. Soups are served in a cup ($2.50) or by the bowl ($3.50), and include their Soup of the Day and Chicken Tortilla. The "Platter" menu of this gourmet burger restaurant ranges in price from $9.99-$13.99, and features the Rack O'Ribs and stuffed Chile Rellenos. Desserts range in price from $3.75 to $4.75, featuring cheesecake and sundaes. A special Kids Menu exists for those with smaller appetites, which includes a Corn Dog and Mac 'N' Cheese, costing $3.50 each. Various beers are served, including Blue Moon, Fat Tire, and O'Doul's.

Despite the large crowd, we were served quickly by friendly staff, who had time to check up on us regularly. Because of the good food, friendly service, and economical prices, I recommend 2 Doors Down in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It's located at 118 E. 17th Street, and the phone number is 307-634-6008. The gourmet burger restaurant is generally open Monday through Saturday 11-9, sans holidays like Christmas/New Year's. Website here. Prices and menu selections are subject to change.

I agree! Great place to eat in Cheyenne. I've just had hamburgers but think I'd like to try that salmon next time!
