Review: A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes

These Pancakes Are Great Even Though They Were Not Organic

For a while now I have been experimenting with some easy and healthy breakfast foods for my son. I have done home made banana muffins, cereal, oatmeal and at the moment he is trying out different frozen waffles and frozen pancakes. This will not be something that we will do forever, as I don't want him to only have frozen foods for breakfast. However for the time that we are doing this he has tried some pancakes and waffles from the De Wafelbakkers brand. We have gotten their Blueberry All Natural Organic Whole Grain Spelt Waffles, their Blueberry All Natural Organic Whole Grain Pancakes and most recently their A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes.

I wasn't sure how my son felt about sweet potatoes but I thought that these pancakes sounded really good. They would be a nice change from the blueberry ones he was previously having. I was a little hesitant to get the De Wafelbakkers A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes at first because they were not organic but I went ahead and made the exception. We have been not been able to get organic bread too often because of its price so it wasn't like these were the only thing that we were eating that were not organic. Even though their ingredients were not organic they were still pretty good. Whole grain spelt flour, whole wheat flour, water, corn syrup, sweet potatoes, sugar, soybean oil and/or canola oil, fructan, whey, dried egg whites, salt, cinnamon, soy lecithin, leavening made of calcium acid pyrophosphate, monocalcium phosphate and sodium bicarbonate and xanthan gum make up these pancakes. I was very happy about them having spelt flour.

I have been keeping my eye out for spelt foods for some time now. So far I have been able to find Organic Spelt Hamburger Buns, Organic Spelt English Muffins, Organic Spelt Spaghetti and Organic Spelt Flakes Cereal. Had the De Wafelbakkers A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes not been made with spelt flour I may have been more likely to pass them over for something that was organic. The day after getting these frozen pancakes at the store I made my son some for breakfast. The box only cost one dollar and twenty-five cents and contained three serving of pancakes, which was six pancakes. My son enjoyed the pancakes very much and I thought that they were really great as well. Their taste was sweet and delicious I was really glad that we had decided to try them. Since I had already looked over their ingredients I looked over their nutrition facts as well.

In the serving size of two De Wafelbakkers A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes there was one hundred and eighty calories with thirty-five calories from fat. There was two hundred milligrams of sodium in the pair of pancakes as well as thirty-two grams of carbohydrates, four grams of both fiber and protein and eleven grams of sugars. In the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts of the De Wafelbakkers A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes it listed both calcium and vitamin A with four percent and iron with twice that much. I thought that the nutrition facts looked really, really good. I would recommend for anyone to try out the De Wafelbakkers A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes. They are very, very inexpensive and tastes great. They also offer a nice amount of nutrition in them. I think that we will continue to try out the different foods that the De Wafelbakkers company has and I am sure that we will get their A+ Cinnamon All Natural Whole Grain Spelt Sweet Potato Pancakes from time to time as well.
