I have combination/oily skin and every once in a while a get those nasty zits. However, once I apply some topical medicine to reduce the size of the zit, it eventually starts drying out and the area around it becomes flaky. I could not find a decent oil-free moisturizer to apply on the dry skin area that would not cause me to break out again. However, this moisturizer works absolute wonders! Not only does it make the dry skin area appear normal, but even if I apply directly to the pimple, it actually soothes it and reduces the size and redness overnight!
The ingredients include purified water, Dimethicone, glycerin, cucumber fruit extract, barley extract, Sunflower seedcake, caffeine, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), and chamomile extract. The only downside about this is that although it does contain some natural ingredients, it also contains ingredients with hard to pronounce names and artificial coloring. It dries quickly and safe to wear under makeup without showing or leaving any trace of residue.
Although Clinique recommends this for oily or very oily skin types, I feel that it is suitable for combination skin types or outer T Zone areas as well. Its predecessor, the Dramatically Different Moisturizing "Lotion" is more geared toward sensitive/normal skin types. This comes in a 4.2 fl oz pump bottle and retails for $24 and can be purchased at department store or from online beauty retailers. Although can be considered somewhat pricey, it goes a long, long way. Sometimes Clinique offers promotions such as "Bonus Time" at various department stores where you can purchase Clinique products and receive a complimentary gift package filled with Clinique goodies. I bought this for full price and have no problem buying it again even without any promotions. It's that good and that worth it!
