Review: Coastal Scents 88 Eye Shadow Palette

TommiH
Hey everyone! I just received a new product today that I've been waiting to arrive for awhile now. So today we will be talking about Coastal Scents 88 eye shadow palette. During this time we will look at the color, application life, and texture. Let's get started!

Color:

I wanted to start off with the coloring because I love the colors and couldn't wait to talk about them. As the name states, there are 88 different colors in this palette and they range all the way from neutrals (i.e. cream, beige, etc.) to bright bolds (i.e. blue, green, etc.).

Now we aren't talking about the shimmer palette; this is the matte palette. There is no shimmer to the matte palette at all. Every single color is packed full of pigment and there is no dullness to the coloring whatsoever. I will give color a thumb up!

Texture:

Texture is next in line because texture is very important to me when it comes to makeup. I like my makeup to have a lightweight - natural feel to it at all times. Never do I like to feel the weight of my makeup because it makes my skin feel unclean and it makes me feel fake.

I like the texture of this shadow because it is very lightweight and sheer. Though these shadows are a powder, they are very soft and gather on the brush easily. For those of you who like to use your shadow wet, you may not have to dampen your brush too much for these shadows because they already glide on easily. Another thumb up for Coastal Scents!

These shadows are rather easy to blend as well. If you are a beginner in the shadow design department and would like to learn how to blend and mix and match colors, you may want to look into these shadows.

Application life:

These shadows are impressive in the crease department because I have never had any of the shadows crease on me. They stay put until they fade away. Without an eyelid primer, you are look at approx. five hours of full pigment coloring. I would recommend applying an eyelid primer just because it is easy and you will get a smoother appearance with the shadow and you will also get a longer life span out of your look.

If you are a beginner makeup artist and would like to test out your blending skills and have eye shadow colors on hand to mix and match for new looks when inspiration arrives, this palette is a must. The palette is not too expensive ($26 from Coastal Scents site). You can also find these palettes on Ebay.
