I recently went to Cold Stone Creamery for the first time. I am a big ice cream fan so I was looking forward to this.

The ice cream store is located in the Tim Hortons Coffee Shop on the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, CT.

The ice cream area was on the right side of the store and there were about a dozen flavors. All were very ordinary flavors with nothing added in them. The ice cream was unappealing from the start as mounds of ice cream from previous batches were piled high on these. It made the ice cream look old and with freezer burns.

The cost was $2.99 in a small sugar cone or cup with additional toppings 50 cent each. A waffle cone was another 99 cents. I didn't want to spend more than that so I knew a small was all I was getting. The small size was about 2 scoops and was pretty big.

Cones come in sizes called "like it" (5 oz), "love it" (8 oz) and "gotta have it" (12 oz).

There seemed to be a lot of toppings. In fact, it looked like there were more toppings than ice cream. Some included sprinkles, nuts, marshmallows, M&Ms, various fruits and Oreo cookies. They also offered a lactose-free flavored ice cream. There were not any fat-free or low-fat versions for sale.

Cakes, smoothies and shakes were also available. I had a chocolate pudding flavor and I tested a coffee flavored ice cream.

The ice cream was extremely rich and thick. I love ice cream of all kinds but this was over the top. I can honestly say this was the only ice cream I have ever had that I did not like.

In fact, I only ate about half a small cone and tossed the rest. The person I was with also tossed out their cone. It was just too rich and thick and lacked a lot of flavor.. It was definitely unlike anything I have ever tried before.

Since I have never had this brand, I cannot say all Cold Stone Creamery ice cream is this rich and thick or if it was just this one store.

I can say I will never go back. I do not plan on trying another Cold Stone Creamery store in the future. It was not for me. I can also say that I wish I ordered the "don't like it" (0 oz) version.
