What makes a Cole's Pizzastick? It is a bread stick with pizza sauce and mozzarella stuffed inside. Each one is about six inches long and about two inches wide. There is just enough cheese and pizza sauce in the sticks to taste good, but they are in no way over-stuffed. Cole's Pizzasticks are a nice side food or small snack but is not meant to be a meal unto itself.
The bread of the pizzastick is soft and tasty like fresh baked bread. There is some sort of herbs or seasoning on top of the bread stick, which gives the bread stick a festive look. The sauce tastes like Ragu Pizza sauce but it probably isn't. The cheese is very good even though it isn't very thick. It is easy to tell that the cheese is 100% real mozzarella cheese because of the delicious taste and the stringiness when it is hot.
The Cole's Pizzasticks taste very much like pizza. It is a little disappointing that Cole's doesn't offer pepporoni pizzasticks because that is the only way this snack could get any better. That is unless they started making larger packages similar to the large packs of Hot Pockets or Lean Pockets.
The package contained five pizzasticks. Instructions said to preheat oven to 425 degrees. Then to place pizzasticks on a cookie sheet and bake eight to ten minutes. However I noticed that with a dark cookie sheet it takes considerably less time and the pizzasticks burn easier. I recommend using a light colored cookie sheet so that the Pizzasticks turn out perfect with less chance of error.
Cole's Pizzasticks are a real treat to eat and everyone seems to love them. Whether they are being eaten with a salad or just as a stand alone snack, Cole's Pizzasticks are delicious and will not go to waste. If children are around, you might want to make extras.
I bought my boxes of Cole's Pizzasticks at Wal-mart for around three dollars each. However, I think that Cole's Pizzasticks could probably be found at quality stores like Kroger, Kmart, Meijer, and other super stores for around the same price.
