Review of the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler

John Ehle
If you live close to a wooded area or in a heavily populated pet neighborhood then you know it can be a little difficult keeping these certain creatures off of your lawn or gardens. You can easily take care of this problem safely and humanely with the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler.

What makes this sprinkler stand apart from the competition is the simple fact that it utilizes motion sensing technology in order to activate the system whenever it detects movement. This can be a tremendous asset if you are dealing with larger animals or when you are not at the residence at the time the animal starts poking around where it shouldn't.

The Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkle is just as easy to install as any other comparable style sprinkler and runs on a simple 9 volt battery. The yellow durable plastic design allows you to easily see the unit while working around your yard or garden. This will lessen the chance of accidently running the sprinkler system over with your garden equipment or even simply stepping on it.

Durability was a major deciding factor in my purchase of the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler. It comes backed with a two year warranty and seemed much sturdier in construction as compared to other sprinkler systems on display.

I was surprised to find out, and eager to test the thousand foot range the manufacture boasts about. I am happy to report that the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler system does not disappoint in terms of spray range or performance. The motion sensor works flawlessly and more sensitively than I ever expected.

Though the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler is an effective deterrent for animals, you have to be careful and set up the unit in a position that will allow you to deactivate it easily without spraying yourself! What I think would enhance the units usefulness even more, would be the addition of a remote control turn off option.

All in all I think that this state of the art sprinkler system can be a fine addition to the arsenal of any home owner facing an animal problem. It is humane to pets and to humans as no poisonous chemicals are involved in the process. The price is a little more expensive then I would like at the moment but its usefulness has made it worth the cost in my book.
