Review of Cover Girl Wetslicks Amazemint Lip Gloss in "Everything's Rosy"

I used to buy Cover Girl products when I was in high school and I never could find the right products for my skin tone or they just didn't work the way I wanted them to, so I stopped buying them. And even though this has been years ago, and Cover Girl has made new changes to their line by including a collection for women of color and adding new youthful products to their line, I always was biased against the brand.

I shop at CVS pharmacy regularly so I always get coupons from them. Last fall I received one for a few dollars off any two Cover Girl products, so I decided to give the line a try. I decided to buy a tube of their Wetslicks Amazemint Lip gloss in Everything's Rosy, because I remembered seeing ads with Rihanna wearing the gloss and I wondered if I would like it.

The only thing that I knew about the Wetslicks Amazemint gloss was that it contained Crest Peppermint Oil which is supposed to provide a "minty breath sensation." I've used lip glosses in the past that had a minted scent and flavor and they weren't anything to do cartwheels over but I was really surprised at how strong the peppermint oil in this was. The sensation makes my lips feel cooled and refreshed and it lasts for awhile. It does make your breath feel fresher as well, although if you've just eaten onions and garlic this lip gloss won't work any miracles.

I also was really surprised at how good the Wetslicks Amazemint made my lips feel. My lips get chapped easily and other glosses don't do much to help the problem.Sometimes glosses would make my lips look drier or they wouldn't soften the skin at all so they made my lips look worse. But the Wetslicks Amazemint softens and moisturizes my lips as much as a lip balm does, and something about the peppermint oil makes my lips feel cool and soothed.

Another thing that I loved about the Cover Girl Wetslicks Amazemint Gloss is how light it is. I stopped wearing lip gloss because I hated how sticky and gross it felt on my lips and how my hair always got stuck in it. The Wetslicks Amazemint doesn't feel sticky or heavy and it doesn't leave a film so if you have to re-apply it during the day, your lips still feel clean as if you're applying it for the first time.

The Everything's Rosy shade is also great. It's a warm pink shade that's still bright. It's a color that matches a lot of the tones in my lips so it compliments my skin well and looks completely natural on me. This color looks creamy in the tube but it still gives my lips a healthy shine.

The Cover Girl's Wetslicks Amazemint in Everything's Rosy is my favorite lip gloss and the only one I use these days. Even if I don't plan on using it I keep it in my bag and I inevitably wind up using it throughout my day because it feels better than a lip balm. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
